Christopher Hill (bishop)
Christopher John Hill, (born 10 October 1945) is a retired British Anglican bishop. From 1996 to 2004, he was the Bishop of Stafford, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Lichfield. From 2004 to 2013, he was the Bishop of Guildford, the diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Guildford. In addition, he served as the Clerk of the Closet in the Ecclesiastical Household of the Royal Household of the Sovereign of the United Kingdom from 2005 to 2014. Education and early career Hill was educated at Sebright School and at King's College London (studying for his Bachelor of Divinity and Associate of King's College then training for the ministry, gaining a Master of Theology ). Christopher Hill (Royal Navy Officer)
Rear-Admiral Christopher Hill (1716 – 11 July 1778) was a Royal Navy officer who served as Commander-in-Chief, River Medway and the Nore. Having joined the Royal Navy in 1731, Hill served off Ireland, Portugal, and in the Mediterranean Sea before being promoted to commander in 1746. After several commands he was then promoted to post-captain in 1747. While commanding HMS ''Dover'' he then captured the French East Indiaman ''Pondichéry'' during the Seven Years' War. Hill was on half pay between 1760 and 1769, then being given command of HMS ''Augusta'' and serving as Commander-in-Chief, River Medway and the Nore for the following year. His last command was HMS ''Barfleur'' towards the end of the year. A well thought of officer, Hill was promoted to rear-admiral in January 1778 but was killed in a fall from his horse six months later. Chris Hill (born c. 1950) is an American college athletics administrator and former basketball player and coach. He was the athletic director at the University of Utah from 1987 to 2018. His responsibilities included overseeing the athletic department and supervising all the coaches. During his thirty-one years in his position, he has hired several coaches, secured funding for facilities upgrades, and negotiated the University of Utah's entrance into the Pac-12 Conference. He worked at the club ''Lacy Lady'' in Ilford, as well as at the ''Goldmine'' Canvey Island and was the head of the 'Soul Mafia' a group of DJs which included Greg Edwards, DJ Froggy, Jeff Young and Robbie Vincent, in London and the South East of England into the early 1980s. He had a major input into the creation of the British 'Brit Funk' music scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
