Chris Harper (RAF Officer)
Air Marshal Sir Christopher Nigel Harper, (born 25 March 1957) is a senior Royal Air Force officer, who served as the UK Military Representative to NATO and the European Union from 2011 to 2013 and as Director General of the NATO International Military Staff from 2013 to 2016. He was previously Deputy Commander Allied Joint Force Command at Brunssum in the Netherlands (2009–11), and Air Officer Commanding No. 1 Group in the UK (2007–09). Education and personal Harper was educated at Alleyn's School in Dulwich and King's College London (MA, Defence Studies). He is married with one son and enjoys flying, shooting, running, riding motorcycles and gastronomy. Career Harper was commissioned as an acting pilot officer after winning the Sword of Honour at Initial Officer Training in 1976; he regraded to pilot officer the following year. Royal Air Force
The Royal Air Force (RAF) is the United Kingdom's air and space force. It was formed towards the end of the First World War on 1 April 1918, becoming the first independent air force in the world, by regrouping the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS). Commander Of The Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of, the order. Vice Admiral Sir Ian Fergus Corder, (born 6 August 1960) is a retired senior Royal Navy officer who served as UK Military Representative to NATO, and was the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey from 2016 to 2021. Lieutenant General Sir David Robert Bill, (born 17 November 1954) is a senior British Army officer who served as Commandant of the Royal College of Defence Studies. Early life and education Bill was born on 17 November 1954 to Robert Bill, DSO, RN and Wendy Jean Bill (née Booth). He was educated at Charterhouse School and Welbeck College. Chris Moran
Air Chief Marshal Sir Christopher Hugh Moran, (28 April 1956 – 26 May 2010) was a fast jet pilot and later a senior commander in the Royal Air Force. He was Commander-in-Chief of Air Command at the time of his unexpected death. Early and family life Moran was born in Urmston, Lancashire, and educated at Bishop Ullathorne School in Coventry in the late sixties and early seventies before attending the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology to study mechanical engineering. In 1974, whilst studying at university, Moran became a university cadet in the Royal Air Force. He is the Senior Military Adviser to the UK Department for International Trade Defence & Security Exports.
