Top Gear (1977 TV Series)
''Top Gear'' was a British motoring magazine programme created by the BBC and aired on BBC Two between 22 April 1977 and 17 December 2001. The programme focused on a range of motoring topics, the most common being car reviews, road safety and consumer advice. Originally presented by Angela Rippon and Tom Coyne, the show saw a range of different presenters and reporters front the programme's half-hourly slots, including Noel Edmonds, Jeremy Clarkson, Tiff Needell, William Woollard and Quentin Willson. The programme proved popular during the late 80s and early 90s, and launched a number of spin-offs, including its own magazine entitled ''Top Gear Magazine''. By 1999, viewing figures in ''Top Gear'' had declined after the departure of notable presenters, leading to the BBC cancelling the programme in 2001. Brendan Coogan
Brendan Coogan (born 17 July 1970) is a British television and radio presenter, from Middleton, Greater Manchester. In January 1999, Coogan briefly presented the BBC TV motoring programme ''Top Gear'', following the departure of former host Jeremy Clarkson, but left after a few months, following a drunk driving conviction. Between 1999 and 2001, he was a presenter on Radio 5 Live. From 2003 to 2004, he was a regular face on Granada Television in north-west England. In 2004, he won a Royal Television Society award for Best Presenter. Two of his brothers are comedian Steve Coogan and former singer of the Mock Turtles, Martin Coogan. South Oxfordshire is a local government district in the ceremonial county of Oxfordshire, England. Danny Goffey
Daniel Robert Goffey (born 7 February 1974) is an English musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known as the drummer and backing vocalist for Supergrass. He briefly toured with Babyshambles in 2010, following their drummer's departure. Career 1990–1993: The Jennifers Goffey was born on 7 February 1974 in Eton, Berkshire, and started his music career as a child when he formed his first band, The Jubbly Spufflewubs, which consisted of his brother on guitar and friend David Mackay. He had no drums so had to accompany the others by hitting chopsticks on lunch boxes. At age 10 he received a high hat and snare from his parents, prompting him to start his other band, The Fallopian Tubes. Supergrass
Supergrass are an English rock band formed in 1993 in Oxford. For the majority of the band's tenure, the line-up consisted of brothers Gaz (lead vocals, guitar) and Rob Coombes (keyboards), Mick Quinn (bass, backing vocals) and Danny Goffey (drums, backing vocals). Originally a three-piece, Rob Coombes officially joined the band in 2002. The band signed to Parlophone Records in 1994 and produced ''I Should Coco'' (1995), the best-selling debut album for the label since the Beatles' ''Please Please Me''. Their first album's fourth single, "Alright", was an international hit. The band went on to release five albums: ''In It for the Money'' (1997), '' Supergrass'' (1999), ''Life on Other Planets'' (2002), ''Road to Rouen'' (2005) and ''Diamond Hoo Ha'' (2008), as well as a compilation called ''Supergrass Is 10'' (2004). dom&nic is the working name of directors Nic Goffey and Dominic Hawley. They have been directing music videos and commercials since 1994. Men & Motors was a men's lifestyle television channel in the UK. It was the last remaining station operated by the former Granada Sky Broadcasting joint venture, set up by Granada Television (now part of ITV plc) and satellite broadcaster British Sky Broadcasting in 1996.
