Christopher Frederick Dawson (born 15 February 1952) is a British billionaire businessman; founder, owner and executive chairman of the British retail chain The Range. The ultimate owner is Dawson's wife, who registers as a resident in Jersey, a place that offers tax savings over UK resident individuals. According to the '' Sunday Times Rich List'' in 2022, Dawson and his family are worth £2.25 billion, an increase of £200 million from 2021. Early life Dawson was born in Plymouth, Devon, the son of a market trader. He attended Hooe Primary School and then Plymstock School. Christopher Gary Dawson (born 2 September 1994) is a footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ossett United where he is on dual-registration from Buxton. He has represented Wales at under-21 level. He is a graduate of Leeds United's academy and has also played for Rotherham United and Norwegian side Viking FK. 2022 saw him re join the Crabs Pocket FC where he enjoyed great success. Christopher John Dawson is the 34th Governor of Western Australia and a former police officer who was the List of commissioners of the Western Australia Police Force, Commissioner of the Western Australia Police Force. He was sworn in as governor on 15 July 2022. Police career Dawson joined Western Australia Police in February 1976 as a cadet. He was promoted to superintendent in 1999. The 2002 Queen's Birthday Honours (Australia), 2002 Queen's Birthday Honours saw him receive the Australian Police Medal. Dawson was appointed Deputy Commissioner in July 2004 under Karl O'Callaghan. Christopher Henry Dawson (12 October 188925 May 1970) was a British independent scholar, who wrote many books on cultural history and Christendom. Dawson has been called "the greatest English-speaking Catholic historian of the twentieth century". The 1988–1989 academic year at the College of Europe was named in Dawson's honour. Life Dawson was the only son of Lt. Colonel H.P. Dawson and Mary Louisa, eldest daughter of Archdeacon Bevan, Hay Castle. He was brought up at Hartlington Hall, Yorkshire. Dawson was educated at Winchester College and Trinity College, Oxford, where he obtained 2nd class honours in Modern History in 1911. After his degree he studied economics. He also read the work of the German theologian Ernst Troeltsch. Dawson's background was Anglo-Catholic, but he converted to Roman Catholicism in 1909.
