Chris Cook (soccer)
Christopher Cook (born 1968) is a retired American soccer player who played professionally in the American Professional Soccer League. He was the 1991–92 USISL indoor season MVP. Cook spent most of his youth in Dallas, but moved to Nashville, Tennessee his junior year of high school. In 1986, he graduated from Franklin High School. Cook attended Belmont Abbey College where he was a 1988 Second Team and 1989 First Team NAIA All American soccer player. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in sports management. In 1990, Cook turned professional with the New Mexico Chiles of the American Professional Soccer League. He then moved to Atlanta, joining the Atlanta Magic of the USISL United Soccer League (USL), formerly known as United Soccer Leagues, is a soccer league in the United States and Canada. Forward (association Football)
Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. As with any attacking player, the role of the forward relies heavily on being able to create space for attack. Attacking positions generally favour irrational players who ask questions to the defensive side of the opponent in order to create scoring chances, where they benefit from a lack of predictability in attacking play. United Soccer League (USL), formerly known as United Soccer Leagues, is a soccer league in the United States and Canada. It organizes several men's and women's leagues, both professional and amateur. Men's leagues currently organized are the USL Championship, USL League One, USL League Two, and the youth Super Y League. A new women's league, the USL W League, began play in 2022. New Mexico Chiles (APSL) Players
The New Mexico Chiles were an American soccer club established in 1990 which competed in the American Professional Soccer League. In 1991, the team merged with the New Mexico Roadrunners and moved to the USISL until its disestablishment in 1996. History In 1986, the semi-professional Albuquerque Outlaws entered the newly established Southwest Indoor Soccer League. In 1987, the team became the Albuquerque Gunners. In 1989, the SISL and Gunners began playing both a summer outdoor as well as a winter indoor season. The team was renamed the New Mexico Roadrunners for the 1990/91 indoor season. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. As central midfielders often go across boundaries, with mobility and passing ability, they are often referred to as deep-lying midfielders, play-makers, box-to-box midfielders, or holding midfielders. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) established in 1940, is a college athletics association for colleges and universities in North America.
