Chris Collins (writer)
Chris Collins is an American television writer and producer. He has worked on the HBO dramas ''The Sopranos'' and ''The Wire''. He was an executive story editor for the Starz drama series ''Crash''. He is a producer and writer for the FX series '' Sons of Anarchy''. Biography Collins joined the crew of ''The Wire'' in 2004 as a script coordinator for the third season. He continued to serve as a script coordinator and became a staff writer for the fourth season in 2006 . Collins and the writing staff won the Writers Guild of America (WGA) Award for Best Dramatic Series at the February 2008 ceremony for their work on the fourth season. Collins became a story editor for the fifth season in 2009. Collins was involved in the writer's planning meetings for the fifth season. Story editor is a job title in motion picture and television production, also sometimes called "supervising producer". In live action television, a story editor is a member of the screenwriting staff who edits scripts, pitches stories, and reports to the producers above them. In animation television, the story editor is the head writer and serves as a lead creative on a series, often doubling as a showrunner or co-showrunner themselves. Live Action The story editor has many responsibilities, including finding new script/breakdown writers, developing stories with writers, and ensuring that scripts are suitable for production. The story editor will work closely with the writer on each draft of their story and script, giving the writer feedback on the quality of their work, suggesting improvements that can be made while also ensuring that practical issues, like continuity and correct running time, are adhered to. Kurt Leon Sutter (born May 5, 1960) is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and actor. He worked as a producer, writer, and director on ''The Shield,'' and appeared on the show as hitman Margos Dezerian.
