Chris Berry (broadcaster)
Chris Berry is an Americans, American broadcaster whose career has included newsroom and management roles for some of the largest communications firms in the United States. As executive vice president of news, talk and sports programming for iHeartMedia he is responsible for overseeing the company's news, talk and sports brands. Biography Berry was born in Decatur, Illinois, to Richard L. Berry and Phyllis (née Phipps) Berry. He grew up in Bradenton, Florida, where he attended Manatee High School. Berry is a 1981 graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received degrees in journalism and business. Berry's broadcast career began at WHBQ-TV in Memphis, Tennessee, where he served as producer of ''Eyewitness News at Six''. In 1982 he relocated to CBS Radio in Los Angeles. Owned by Audacy, Inc., its studios are located at Two Prudential Plaza in the Chicago Loop, while the station transmitter— diplexed with sister station WSCR—resides in the nearby suburb of Bloomingdale. Metro Networks was a broadcasting outsourcing company based in Houston, Texas. It was a subsidiary of Westwood One until its sale to Clear Channel Communications in 2011. The company operated local and regional news and traffic operations that provided regular reports to affiliates, together with its sister company Shadow Broadcast Services. KSPN (710 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California, and serving the Greater Los Angeles Area. Owned by Good Karma Brands, the station airs a sports format as the market's ESPN Radio affiliate. KSPN's studios are located at the ESPN Los Angeles Studios at L.A. WSBN (630 kHz) is a commercial AM sports radio station licensed to Washington, D.C. and serving the Washington metro area. It operates with 10,000 watts in the daytime and 2,700 watts at night using a directional antenna around the clock. WSBN's studios are on Jenifer Street in Northwest Washington. The transmitter is located off Black Rock Road in Germantown, Maryland. WSBN is owned and operated by Cumulus Media and is affiliated with ESPN Radio. It is one of the oldest radio stations in the Washington media market, continuously on the air from 1925. Paul Harvey Aurandt (September 4, 1918 – February 28, 2009) was an American radio broadcaster for ABC News Radio. He broadcast ''News and Comment'' on mornings and mid-days on weekdays and at noon on Saturdays and also his famous ''The Rest of the Story'' segments. From 1951 to 2008, his programs reached as many as 24 million people per week. ''Paul Harvey News'' was carried on 1,200 radio stations, on 400 American Forces Network stations, and in 300 newspapers. Early life Harvey was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was the son of a policeman who was killed by robbers in 1921.
