Chris Bergson
Chris Bergson (born May 24, 1976) is an American born guitarist, singer and songwriter. Chris Bergson was inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame as a Master Blues Artist in 2015. Early life Bergson was born in New York, New York. In 1979, his family moved to Boston, Massachusetts before eventually settling in Somerville, Massachusetts. Bergson began taking guitar lessons when he was seven years old. Career Bergson began his professional career in Boston, Massachusetts playing in Boston area rock clubs at the age of 13. 1990's In 1995, Bergson studied privately with jazz guitarist Jim Hall. Matthew Edward Wilson (born September 27, 1964) is an American jazz drummer. Early life and education Wilson was born in Knoxville, Illinois. He studied percussion at Wichita State University. Waterfront Blues Festival
The Waterfront Blues Festival is an annual event in Portland, Oregon, United States featuring four days of performances by blues musicians. The festival started in 1988 and takes place in Tom McCall Waterfront Park, along the west bank of the Willamette River in downtown Portland. History The festival began in 1987 as the Rose City Blues Festival, sponsored by the Cascade Blues Association, to benefit the Burnside Community Council's projects for the homeless. The FM community radio station KBOO has broadcast performances from the event, throughout the festival's history. The following year, Oregon Food Share (predecessor of the Oregon Food Bank) became the beneficiary of the Rose City Blues Festival. In 1991, the name was changed to the Waterfront Blues Festival. Ellis Hooks (born 1974) is an American soul blues and electric blues singer and songwriter, who has released six albums to date. The Allmusic journalist, Thom Jurek, noted that Hooks " touches upon Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke, and Otis Redding, but feels like one of the gritty New York streets Hooks has busked upon." Randy Ciarlante
Randy Ciarlante is an American musician who frequently played with The Band. He joined The Band in 1990, singing harmony and playing drums. He played and sang on their albums from the 1990s, including ''Jericho'', '' High on the Hog'' and ''Jubilation''. After the Band dissolved, he joined the Jim Weider Band from 1998 to 2006 and continues to play occasionally with Weider's Percolator band. In 2006, he joined the Organiks, a band based in Woodstock, New York, in which he is a primary vocalist, songwriter and drummer, along with Bruce Katz, Jay Collins and Chris Vitarello. South By Southwest
South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2017, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days, music for seven days, and film for nine days.
