Chris Alexander is a Canadian magazine editor, film critic, director, musician, composer, teacher and writer. Alexander was a member of the Toronto Film Critics Association and was the editor-in-chief of '' Fangoria'', an editor of American film website ComingSoon.net and a writer for the daily newspaper ''Metro News''. The Toronto Film Critics Association (TFCA) is an organization of film critics from Toronto-based publications. As of 1999, the TFCA is a member of the FIPRESCI. History The Toronto Film Critics Association is the official organization of Toronto-based broadcasters and journalists who critique films and provide commentary on them. Members represent all major print and electronic outlets in the city. They have juried festivals all over the world, from Cannes to Berlin, Venice to Toronto. ''Why Horror?'' is a 2014 Canadian documentary film directed by Nicolas Kleiman and Rob Lindsay and written and co-produced by Lindsay. A work-in-progress draft of the film was screened in August 2014 at the Fantasia Festival and the official final version was screened on 3 October 2014 at the Feratum Film Festival. The documentary explores the psychology of the reasons why people enjoy the horror genre and includes interviews by several well-known horror icons. Funding for the film was partially raised by a successful Kickstarter campaign. ''Queen of Blood'' is a 2014 vampire film that was written and directed by Chris Alexander and is a follow-up to his 2012 film '' Blood for Irina''. The film had its world premiere on 4 April 2014 at the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival and has actress Shauna Henry returning to reprise the character of Irina. A DVD and VOD release will occur in September 2015. Alexander shot part of the film using his iPhone and stated that "my recurring effect of swirling blood and colored chemicals are captured by the iPhone with absolutely no color correcting or post-production interference." Linda Kay "Lynn" Lowry (born October 15, 1947) is an American actress, screenwriter and producer. She is perhaps best known for her work in horror films, having appeared in the cult films '' I Drink Your Blood'' (1970), George A. Romero's '' The Crazies'' (1973) and David Cronenberg's '' Shivers'' (1975). Early life Lowry was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, and lived in Cahokia, Illinois during her early childhood.
