Chr. Aug. Thoring
Christian August Thoring (1 October 1919 – 2003) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was a failed candidate for the position as Rogaland's county mayor, and deputy county mayor, several times. He was also known as board chairman of Kommunal Landspensjonskasse and ''Rogalands Avis''. Career He was born in Stavanger, and graduated with the siv.øk. degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in 1946. He spent his professional career as financial executive in Lyse Kraftverk from 1947 to 1962, chief financial officer in Stavanger municipality from 1962 to 1966 and director of the company Forus Industritomteselskap from 1971 to 1992. As a politician he is known as a member of Rogaland county council. He served from 1972 to 1988, leading his party group the entire time.
