Choti Bahen
''Chhoti Bahen'' () is a 1959 Indian Hindi-language film that stars Nanda in the title role, Balraj Sahni and Rehman. It is a remake of the 1952 Tamil film '' En Thangai''. Plot Rajendra lives a poor lifestyle along with his younger collegian brother Shekhar, as well a younger sister Meena. He is in love with a school-teacher, and both hope to get married after Meena and Shekhar's marriages. Luck shines upon them and Meena's marriage is arranged with Dr. Ramesh, while Shekhar decides to wed Shobha, the only daughter of a wealthy man obsessed with horse-racing. Rajendra mortgages his house with his paternal uncle. Then things turn sour after Meena loses her vision; the wedding gets canceled, and Rajendra is humiliated by Ramesh's dad. Rajendra decides to remain single to look after Meena, and permits Shekhar and Shobha to get married. The marriage takes place, and Shobha moves in. Inder Raj Anand
Inder Raj Anand (died 6 March 1987) was an Indian film dialogue and screenwriter in Hindi cinema, who worked on many Raj Kapoor films, starting with ''Aag (1948 film), Aag'' (1948), ''Aah (film), Aah'' (1953), ''Anari (1959 film), Anari'' (1959) and ''Sangam (1964 Hindi film), Sangam'' (1964). While formally referred to as a writer for Hindi films, he was actually an Urdu literature, Urdu writer, writing his scripts and dialogues in Urdu. He was father to actor-director Tinnu Anand and producer Bittu Anand. Inder's grandson is noted film director Siddharth Anand (''Salaam Namaste'' (2005) and ''Anjaana Anjaani'' (2010)). Famous director Mukul Anand was Inder's nephew. Shahenshah (1988 film), ''Shahenshah'', starring Amitabh Bachchan, was Inder's last film as a writer. Shailendra (lyricist)
Shailendra (30 August 1923 – 14 December 1966) was an Indian Hindi-Urdu poet, lyricist and film producer. He is regarded as one of the greatest and most celebrated lyricists of the Indian film industry. Known for his association with filmmaker Raj Kapoor, singer Mukesh (singer), Mukesh, and composer duo Shankar–Jaikishan, he wrote lyrics for several successful Music of Bollywood, Hindi film songs in the 1950s and 1960s. Early life Shankar Shailendra was born on 30 August 1923 in Rawalpindi, Punjab Province (British India), Punjab (now in Pakistan). He was born into a Dalit family belonging to the Dhusia, Chamar community and his ancestors were originally from the Ara, Bihar, Ara district of Bihar. Due to financial crisis, his family later moved to Mathura from Rawalpindi where Shailendra completed his studies. At a young age, he lost his mother and sister.
