Chorolque
Chorolque also known as Cerro Chorolque is an extinct volcano in the Potosí Department of the Southern Bolivia. The Santa Bárbara settlement is located at a height of 4800 m on the side of the mountain. Mining Mining has led to drastic changes in the slope on all sides of the mountain. Miners have constructed a road up to 5000 m of the mountain. The village of Santa Bárbara, with its 5000 inhabitants, is the highest village in Bolivia, and is located on the western slope of the mountain. The mines are the highest tin and bismuth mines in the world. Mining in the mountain began with the arrival of Western investors in 1889. Daughter of Chorolque A 2007 film called ''Daughter of Chorolque'', by Mi-Sun Park, details the lives of women working in the Chorolque mines. Most miners working in Chorolque do not live past 45, necessitating the need for women to also work in the mines, unlike in other parts of Bolivia where women are kept away from mines. Ultra Prominent Peak
An ultra-prominent peak, or Ultra for short, is a mountain summit with a topographic prominence of or more; it is also called a P1500. The prominence of a peak is the minimum height of climb to the summit on any route from a higher peak, or from sea level if there is no higher peak. There are approximately 1,524 such peaks on Earth. Some well-known peaks, such as the Matterhorn and Eiger, are not Ultras because they are connected to higher mountains by high cols and therefore do not achieve enough topographic prominence. The term "Ultra" originated with earth scientist Steve Fry, from his studies of the prominence of peaks in Washington (state), Washington in the 1980s. His original term was "ultra major mountain", referring to peaks with at least of prominence. Distribution Currently, 1,518 Ultras have been identified above sea level: 639 in Asia, 356 in North America, 209 in South America, 120 in Europe (including 12 in the Caucasus), 84 in Africa, 69 in Oceania, and 41 in ...

Bismuth
Bismuth is a chemical element with the Symbol (chemistry), symbol Bi and atomic number 83. It is a post-transition metal and one of the pnictogens, with chemical properties resembling its lighter group 15 siblings arsenic and antimony. Elemental bismuth occurs naturally, and its sulfide and oxide forms are important commercial ores. The free element is 86% as dense as lead. It is a brittle metal with a silvery-white color when freshly produced. Passivation (chemistry), Surface oxidation generally gives samples of the metal a somewhat rosy cast. Further oxidation under heat can give bismuth a vividly Iridescence, iridescent appearance due to thin-film interference. Bismuth is both the most Diamagnetism, diamagnetic element and one of the least Thermal conductivity, thermally conductive metals known. Bismuth was long considered the element with the highest atomic mass whose nuclei do not spontaneously decay. However, in 2003 it was discovered to be extremely weakly radioactive. The ...
