Chor Yeok Eng
Chor Yeok Eng (; 29 January 1930 – 21 July 2016) was a Singaporean politician who is one of the Old Guards member of the People's Action Party (PAP). Political career Chor served two separate stints in Parliament. He was first elected in 1959 as the member of the Legislative Assembly of Singapore for the constituency of Jurong but was defeated in 1963. He also served as Parliamentary Secretary for the National Development from 1961 to 1963. Between 1963 to 1966, he served as Political Secretary for Health. Chor was elected as a member of the Parliament of Singapore for Bukit Timah Single Member Constituency serving from 1966 to 1984. He also served as Parliamentary Secretary for Health from 1966 to 1972 and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Environment for 1972 to 1982. Pingat Jasa Gemilang
The Pingat Jasa Gemilang ( en, Meritorious Service Medal) is a Singaporean national honour and medal instituted in 1962. It may be awarded to any person who has performed "''service of conspicuous merit characterised by resource and devotion to duty, including long service marked by exceptional ability, merit and exemplary conduct within Singapore''". It may also be awarded to any person outside of Singapore under exceptional circumstances. Recipients are entitled to use the post-nominal letters PJG. Singapore General Hospital
Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is an academic health science centre and tertiary referral hospital in Singapore. It is located next to the Bukit Merah and Chinatown districts of the Central Region, close to the Outram Community Hospital (OCH), which functions as a supplementary community and rehabilitation hospital to SGH for newly-discharged patients. Aplastic Anemia
Aplastic anemia is a cancer in which the body fails to make blood cells in sufficient numbers. Blood cells are produced in the bone marrow by stem cells that reside there. Aplastic anemia causes a deficiency of all blood cell types: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It occurs most frequently in people in their teens and twenties but is also common among the elderly. It can be caused by heredity, immune disease, or exposure to chemicals, drugs, or radiation.
