Chor Lau-heung (1995 TV Series)
''Chor Lau-heung'' is a Taiwanese television series adapted from Gu Long's ''Chu Liuxiang'' novel series. The story is a new creation by the screenwriters and has little relevance to the original novels. Adam Cheng starred as the titular protagonist, Chor Lau-heung (Cantonese for "Chu Liuxiang"). The series was first broadcast on TTV in Taiwan on 3 April 1995. Wuxia
( ), which literally means "martial heroes", is a genre of Chinese fiction concerning the adventures of martial artists in ancient China. Although is traditionally a form of historical fiction, its popularity has caused it to be adapted for such diverse art forms as Chinese opera, manhua, television dramas, films, and video games. Chu Liuxiang
Chu Liuxiang is the fictional protagonist of the ''wuxia'' novel series ''Chu Liuxiang Series'' by Taiwanese writer Gu Long. His given name "Liuxiang" literally means "lingering fragrance". Nicknamed "Dàoshuài" ("Bandit Chief") or "Xiāngshuài" ("Chief Xiang"), he steals from the rich to help the poor and upholds justice in the ''jianghu'' (martial artists' community). Character description Chu Liuxiang is a martial arts expert whose prowess in ''qinggong'' is one of the best – if not ''the'' best – in the ''jianghu'' (martial artists' community). He wields a metal hand fan as his weapon and uses it only for self-defence. Gu Long
Xiong Yaohua (7 June 1938 – 21 September 1985), better known by his pen name Gu Long, was a Hong Kong-born Taiwanese novelist, screenwriter, film producer and director. A graduate of Cheng Kung Senior High School and Tamkang University, Xiong is best known for writing wuxia novels and serials, which include ''Juedai Shuangjiao'', ''Xiaoli Feidao Series'', '' Chu Liuxiang Series'', '' Lu Xiaofeng Series'' and ''The Eleventh Son''. Some of these works have been adapted into films and television series for numerous times. In the 1980s, he started his own film studio, Bao Sian (寶龍), to produce film adaptations of his works. Life Xiong was born on 7 June 1938 in Hong Kong but his registered identity stated that he was born in 1941. Adam Cheng
Adam Cheng Siu-chow (born 24 February 1947) is a Hong Kong TVB actor and Cantopop singer. Career Cheng started his career in the 1970s, where he gained a reputation for playing the lead roles in TVB ''Wuxia'' drama series based on the works of Louis Cha and Gu Long, such as ''The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber'' and '' Chor Lau Heung''. Taiwan Television Enterprise, Ltd. (), commonly known as TTV and formerly known as Central Television and Voice of Taiwan, is the first terrestrial television station in the Republic of China (Taiwan). It was established on April 28, 1962, and started formally broadcasting later that year on October 10, 1962, as free-to-air. It is the first television company in Taiwan. ''Baifa Monü Zhuan'' is a wuxia novel by Liang Yusheng. It was serialised between 5 August 1957 and 10 December 1958 in the Hong Kong newspaper ''Sin Wun Pao''.
