Chonburi F.C.
Chonburi Football Club () is a Thai professional football club based in the city of Chonburi, Chonburi province, that competes in the second division in Thai football, the Thai League 2, after relegation in the 2023-24 season. The team lifted the league title in 2007 which became the most successful season in their history. Chonburi were founded in 1997 and their main rivals were Sriracha who were also based in Chonburi Province prior to their move and subsequent dissolution. The team is widely known by their nickname ''"The Sharks"'' which can be seen in the crest of the club. History Early years In its early years, Chonburi Football Club was Assumption College Sriracha's football team. The team was managed by Annop Singtothong, Thanasak Suraprasert, Sontaya Khunpluem, and Wittaya Khunpluem. Chonburi Stadium ( th, ชลบุรีสเตเดียม หรือ สนาม อบจ. ชลบุรี) is a multi-use stadium in Chonburi Province, Thailand. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home stadium of Chonburi F.C., Chonburi Football Club. The stadium holds 8,680 people. History The Chonburi Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium used mostly for association football games located at Suan Luang Rama IX Park in Mueang Chonburi District, Mueang Chonburi, Chonburi Province, Chonburi, with a capacity of 8,680 seats, is currently used as the home of Chonburi F.C., Chonburi Football Club. The stadium was used for the first time a season in 2012 for the Thai Premier League and also used to play in the AFC Cup as well as their first time in this competition.
