This is a list of characters from the manga series ''Azumanga Daioh'' by Kiyohiko Azuma, later adapted to anime. The main cast consists of six schoolgirls and two teachers, along with a few secondary characters, the latter including Kimura-sensei, a male teacher with an obsession with teenage girls, and Kaorin, a classmate with a crush on Sakaki. Yamauchi Chiyo
Yamauchi Chiyo (山内千代) or Kenshōin (見性院, 1557 – 1617) was a Japanese noble lady from the Sengoku period to the early of the Edo period. Known in history for her dedication and devotion to her family, she was vitally important to the success of the Yamauchi clan, a samurai clan under the leadership of her husband, Yamauchi Kazutoyo. It is said that she was responsible for stabilizing the predominance of the Yamauchi clan, and the formation of the Tosa domain. She was the daughter of Endo Morikazu, lord of Gujo-Hachiman castle. Her personal name is thought to have been Chiyo or Matsu, but there is no certainty. Becoming a Buddhist nun, she took the religious name of Kenshôin. Fukuda Chiyo-ni
Fukuda Chiyo-ni (福田 千代尼, 1703 - 2 October 1775) or Kaga no Chiyo (加賀 千代女) was a Japanese poet of the Edo period and a Buddhist nun. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest poets of haiku (then called hokku). Some of Chiyo's best works include The Morning Glory, Putting up my hair, and Again the women. Being one of the few women haiku poets in pre-modern Japanese literature, Chiyo-ni has been seen an influential figure. Before her time, haiku by women were often dismissed and ignored. She began writing Haiku at seven and by age seventeen she had become very popular all over Japan and she continued writing throughout her life. Mochizuki Chiyome (望月 千代女), also known as Mochizuki Chiyojo (望月 千代女) or Mochizuki Chiyo (望月 千代), was a 16th-century Japan, Japanese poet and noblewoman. She is known for creating a group of kunoichi in service of the Takeda clan. is a popular J-Pop, Japanese pop singer, and former fashion model who debuted in the 1960s. Chiyo Uno
was a Japanese author and kimono designer. She was known for her contributions to Japanese fashion, film, and literature. Early years Uno was born in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi. In 1915, she was fired from her job as a teacher's assistant due to an affair she was having with a colleague. In 1919, she married her cousin, a banker named Fujimara Tadashi. Her initial literary success came in 1921 when she was awarded a prize for her short story , or ''Painted Face.'' After receiving the award, Uno left Tadashi and moved to Tokyo.
