Chitinsky District (russian: Чити́нский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the thirty-one in Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia.Registry of the Administrative-Territorial Units and the Inhabited Localities It is located in the west of the krai, and borders with Karymsky District in the east, Duldurginsky District in the south, and with Khiloksky District in the west. It is named after explorer Jan Czerski and was formerly known as "Alentuy Range". Geography The Chersky Range is part of the South Siberian System. Classes During the Soviet time, each of the republics of the Soviet Union, including the Russian SFSR, had its own legislative documents dealing with classification of inhabited localities.
