Chip N' Dale
Chip and Dale (also spelled Chip 'n' Dale) is a cartoon duo of anthropomorphic chipmunks created in 1943 by The Walt Disney Company. Concept The characters were first drawn by Bill Justice and introduced in the 1943 Pluto short ''Private Pluto'', directed by Clyde Geronimi. In the short, they fight with Pluto about whether they can store their nuts in a military base cannon. Three years later, director Jack Hannah decided to use them as co-stars in Donald Duck shorts. Hannah said: Of the two, Chip is portrayed as being safe, focused, and having a mind for logical scheming. Dale, by contrast, is more laid-back, dim-witted, and impulsive, and has a very strong sense of humor. ''Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers'' is an American animated adventure comedy television series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. Created by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove, it featured established Disney characters Chip 'n' Dale in a new setting. The Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film is an award given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) as part of the annual Academy Awards, or Oscars, since the 5th Academy Awards (with different names), covering the year 1931–32, to the present. ''The Lone Chipmunks'' is a 1954 American animated short film directed by Jack Kinney and produced by Walt Disney. In the short film, Chip 'n' Dale are in the old west, trying to bring in Black Pete for a $10,000 reward, being the only short film that shows a confrontation between Chip & Dale and Pete. This cartoon marks Pete's final appearance in the Golden Age of American animation, and the last of the three cartoons in the short-lived ''Chip n' Dale'' series. Plot The episode begins with Black Pete entering an Old West town called Gower Gulch guns blazing. He then robs the town's bank and escapes on his horse. ''Chicken in the Rough'' is a 1951 animated short starring Chip 'n' Dale. It is Chip 'n' Dale's first solo cartoon, and footage is reused from ''Farmyard Symphony''. In the short film, Chip 'n' Dale wander into a farmyard to collect acorns. Dale mistakes an egg for a nut, but when he tries to demonstrate to a newly hatched chick how to get back into the egg, a rooster mistakes him for one of his chicks, much to Chip's amusement. Plot Chip 'n' Dale are gathering nuts; the nuts fall into the chicken pen. When Dale is playing around with some eggs, one hatches. The chick leaves, and Dale has to pretend to be a chick to avoid the wrath of the rooster.
