Chinnari Paapalu
''Chinnari Papalu'' () is a 1968 Indian Telugu-language drama film produced and written by Veeramachaneni Sarojini, and directed by Savitri. The film stars Jaggayya, Sowcar Janaki and Jamuna. It revolves around a rich man falling in love with a tribal girl, and how the pair face challenges in life when they separate. ''Chinnari Papalu'' was the inaugural production of Sri Mata Pictures, and Savitri's directorial debut. Its crew consisted largely of women: director Savitri, producer-writer Sarojini, music director P. Leela, art director Mohana and dance choreographer Rajasulochana, but cinematographers Singh and Sekhar, and editor M. S. N. Murthy were exceptions. ''Chinnari Papalu'' was released on 21 June 1968 and despite failing commercially, received critical acclaim and won the Nandi Award for Second Best Feature Film - Silver produced by ''Matha Pictures''. Savitri Ganesan (born Nissankara Savitri; 6 December 1935 – 26 December 1981) was an Indian actress, playback singer, dancer, director, and producer known for her works primarily in Telugu and Tamil cinema. She had also worked in Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam films. She starred in more than 250 films over three decades. She was one of the highest-paid and most popular Indian actresses of the 1950s, 60s, and early 70s. She is known by the epithets ''Mahanati'' () and ''Nadigaiyar Thilagam'' (). Savitri's first significant role was in the 1952 Telugu-Tamil bilingual film ''Pelli Chesi Choodu'' which simultaneously made in Tamil as Kalyanam Panni Paar . Chittajallu Rajeevalochana (15 August 1935 – 5 March 2013), better known as Rajasulochana, was an Indian classical dancer and actress. She has acted in more than 300 Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi language films. Early life She was born on 15 August 1935 in Vijayawada, Bezawada (now Vijayawada), in Andhra Pradesh. Her father, Pilliarchetty Bhakthavatsalam Naidu worked in Indian Railways and was transferred to Madras as PA to the General Manager of M&SM Railway. Vauhini Studios was an Indian film production company and studio facility in Madras. It was founded by Moola Narayana Swamy and B. N. Reddy (Bommireddy Narasimha Reddy). In later years, Nagi Reddi, owner of Vijaya Productions, acquired Vauhini studios on lease. In 1961, Nagi Reddi purchased Vauhini Studios from Narayana Swamy's son Moola Venkata Rangaiah and merged it with his Vijaya Productions and named it as Vijaya Vauhini Studios. Ramasamy Ganesan (17 November 1920 – 22 March 2005), better known by his stage name Gemini Ganesan, was an Indian actor who worked mainly in Tamil cinema. He was referred to as the ''Kaadhal Mannan'' (King of Romance) for his romantic roles in films. Ganesan was one of the "three biggest names of Tamil cinema", the other two being M. G. Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan. While Sivaji Ganesan excelled in Drama (film and television), dramatic films and M. G.
