Carl Chinn
Carl Steven Alfred Chinn, MBE (born 6 September 1956) is an English historian, writer and broadcaster whose working life has been devoted to the study and popularisation of the city of Birmingham. He broadcast a programme on the BBC from the mid—1990s focusing on Birmingham's history. In 1990, he was contracted to lecture at the University of Birmingham, where he subsequently became a full professor in 2002. During this year he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his "services to local history and to charities." Benjamen Chinn
Benjamen Chinn (April 30, 1921 – April 25, 2009) was an American photographer known especially for his black and white images of Chinatown, San Francisco and of Paris, France in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Biography Born in San Francisco's Chinatown on April 30, 1921, Benjamen Chinn was the ninth of twelve children. He was introduced to photography at the age of ten by his older brother, John, who taught him how to develop and print photos. Together the two assembled a darkroom in the basement of the family home. Throughout his photographic career, Chinn, an engineer by profession, would become known for his skills in the darkroom. During World War II, he served in the Pacific as an aerial and public relations photographer for the U.S. Army Air Corps. Conor Chinn (born August 29, 1987 in La Jolla, California) is a former American soccer player. Career College and amateur Chinn first gained notoriety in high school, when he was featured in nationally aired commercials for StarKick. Following high school, Chinn attended Seattle University for one year before transferring to the University of San Francisco, where he played from 2006 to 2009. Betty Kwan Chinn (關惠群) is a philanthropist who lives in Eureka, California. She has helped the homeless—including the mentally ill, disabled veterans, runaways, and drug abusers—since the 1980s.
