Chingona Fire
Chingona Fire is a Latinas, Latina feminist Collaborative poetry, poetry collective from Los Angeles, California. It was founded by the Poet, poets Angela Aguirre and Yesika Salgado in February 2016. Their goal is to create a safe space and visibility for women of color. They are helping women of color to have locations to perform on stage and to have their voices heard. Each month they host events where people can perform in front of audiences of approximately 80-100 listeners. "Patriarchy will have you believe that, and internalize that, so we are trying to change that narrative to one that celebrates with other women instead of competes with them," she (Aguirre) said. "We need to stop feeling pain and Jealousy, jealously from someone’s success and instead see it as them breaking a barrier that's helping you get closer and closer to that door." Hispanic And Latino American Feminism
The term ''Hispanic'' ( es, hispano) refers to people, cultures, or countries related to Spain, the Spanish language, or Hispanidad. The term commonly applies to countries with a cultural and historical link to Spain and to viceroyalties formerly part of the Spanish Empire following the Spanish colonization of the Americas, parts of the Asia-Pacific region and Africa. Outside of Spain, the Spanish language is a predominant or official language in the countries of Hispanic America and Equatorial Guinea. Further, the cultures of these countries were influenced by Spain to different degrees, combined with the local pre-Hispanic culture or other foreign influences.
