Chinese Culture Center
The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco (or CCC) (; Jyutping: ''Gau6gam1saan1 Zung1waa4 Man4faa3 Zung1sam1'') is a community-based, non-profit organization established in 1965 as the operations center of the Chinese Culture Foundation located in Hilton San Francisco Financial District, at 750 Kearny Street, 3rd Floor, San Francisco, California, United States. The CCC's activities have shifted focus throughout its existence. In the 2010s the center focused on contemporary art exhibitions and interventions, under the vestige of the CCC Visual Arts Center, as well as on radical, social justice education initiatives, under the vestige of the Him Mark Lai Learning Center. Jun Ke Choy
Jun Ke Choy (; 1892 – July 9, 1981) was a Chinese American politician who served as mayor of Hangzhou and the 14th chairman of the China Merchants Steamship Company Group, now known as China Merchants Group. He was also the founder of the Chinese Culture Center in San Francisco. Choy is commonly known as J.K. Choy. Biography Choy was born in Honolulu in 1892 and studied at McKinley High School from 1908 to 1911. As a young man, he met Sun Yat-sen and was resolved to return to China. In 1911, he returned to Guangdong, his native province and was elected a member of the Provincial Assembly. However, finding politics uninteresting, Choy returned to the United States and enrolled in Columbia University as a Chinese government student. He graduated from Columbia College in 1915. The Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region (PRD; ; pt, Delta do Rio das Pérolas (DRP)) is the low-lying area surrounding the Pearl River estuary, where the Pearl River flows into the South China Sea. Referred to as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in official documents, the region is one of the most densely populated and urbanized regions in the world, and is considered a megacity by numerous scholars. It is currently the wealthiest region in Southern China and one of the wealthiest regions in China along with the Yangtze River Delta in Eastern China and Jingjinji in Northern China. Timmy Yip
Tim Yip Kam-tim (; born 1967) is a Hong Kong art director and designer for fiction films. He is best known for his work on the 2000 martial arts film '' Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'', for which he won an Academy Award for Best Art Direction. Yip also won a BAFTA award for the film's costume design. He has been alternatively credited as Tim Yip Kam-tim, Kam Tim Yip, Kam-tim Yip, and Tim Yip. Stella Zhang ( zh, c=张爽; born 1965 in Beijing, China) is a Chinese contemporary artist whose practice ranges from painting to sculpture and installation. Zhang is notable for her strong feminist approach in art-making.
