China At The 2018 Winter Paralympics
China competed at the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, held between 9–18 March 2018. With Beijing being the host of the 2022 Winter Paralympics, a Chinese segment was performed at the closing ceremony. China won 1 medal in total. On 17 March, Wang Haitao, Chen Jianxin, Liu Wei, Wang Meng and Zhang Qiang won the first Winter Paralympics medal for China with gold in wheelchair curling. China Administration Of Sports For Persons With Disabilities
The China Administration of Sports for Persons with Disabilities (CASPD, zh, 中国残疾人体育运动管理中心) is a public institution of the Central Government of China, and is affiliated with the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF). It is estimated that there are 85 million people with disabilities in China. The CASPD is responsible for the administration of disability sports in China. Its work includes developing sporting standards, carrying out sports research, undertaking sports drug testing, and directing sports training programs. Alpine Skiing
Alpine skiing, or downhill skiing, is the pastime of sliding down snow-covered slopes on skis with fixed-heel bindings, unlike other types of skiing ( cross-country, Telemark, or ski jumping), which use skis with free-heel bindings. Whether for recreation or for sport, it is typically practiced at ski resorts, which provide such services as ski lifts, artificial snow making, snow grooming, restaurants, and ski patrol. "Off-piste" skiers—those skiing outside ski area boundaries—may employ snowmobiles, helicopters or snowcats to deliver them to the top of a slope. Back-country skiers may use specialized equipment with a free-heel mode, including 'sticky' skins on the bottoms of the skis to stop them sliding backwards during an ascent, then locking the heel and removing the skins for their descent. Wu Junbao
Wu Junbao (; born 1965) is a lieutenant general in the People's Liberation Army of China. He is an alternate member of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. Biography Wu was born in Qianjiang, Hubei, Qianjiang County (now Qianjiang), Hubei, in 1965. He once served as commander of the 14th Division of the Air Force Aviation Corps of the Nanjing Military Region. He was commander of Shanghai Air Force Base in 2013, and held that office until 2017, when he deputy commander of the Central Theater Command Air Force. He was assistant to the chief of staff of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission in early 2021 and subsequently deputy commander of the Eastern Theater Command and commander of the Eastern Theater Command Air Force in December of that same year.
