China Finance 40 Forum
The China Finance 40 Forum or CF40 is a Chinese think tank created in 2008 which specializes on issues of economic and financial policy. In January 2021, the University of Pennsylvania's Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program ranked CF40 as #8 top think tank in China, and #31 among think tanks in China, India, Japan and the Republic of Korea. History and development CF40 was created on 12 April 2008 as a club of 40 finance experts under 40 years of age, thus its name. It was founded and developed by Wang Haiming, previously a journalist and chief editor at 21st Century Business Herald. Chen Yuan is its founding chairman. Based in Beijing, CF40 has also created the Shanghai Finance Institute (SFI) in Shanghai and the Northern Finance Institute (NFI) in Tianjin, in 2011 and 2016 respectively. Chen Yuan
Chen Yuan (, born in January 1945) is a Chinese economist who served as the Chairman of the China Development Bank from March 1998 to April 2013. Chen Yuan then served as Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from 2013 to 2018. He is the eldest son of former Vice Premier Chen Yun. Biography Chen Yuan graduated with a master's degree in Industrial Economics from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, where he studied under the supervision of economists Yu Guangyuan and Ma Hong. Ant Group
Ant Group ()'','' formerly known as Ant Financial, is an affiliate company of the Chinese conglomerate Alibaba Group. The group owns the world's largest mobile (digital) payment platform Alipay, which serves over 1.3 billion users and 80 million merchants, with total payment volume (TPV) reaching in June 2020. It is the second largest financial services corporation in the world, behind Visa. In March 2019, ''The Wall Street Journal'' reported that Ant's flagship Tianhong Yu'e Bao money-market fund was the largest in the world, with over 588 million users, or more than a third of China's population, contributing cash to it. Huang Yiping
Huang Yiping (黄益平) is a professor of economics at the National School of Development (formerly, China Center for Economic Research) at Peking University. He is a highly recognized expert of financial services in China. Education and academic career Huang graduated B.S. in agriculture from Zhejiang A & F University in 1984; M.A. in economics from Renmin University of China in 1987; and Ph.D. in economics from Australian National University in 1994, where Peter Drysdale was his supervisor. Zhu Min (economist)
Zhu Min (; born 1952) is a Chinese economist and is deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund. He was the inaugural special advisor to the managing director. Zhu has held senior positions at the Bank of China from 2003 to 2009 and was a deputy governor of the People's Bank of China from 2009 to 2010. He has published extensively on a wide range of macroeconomic management, financial regulation and supervision, and financial market issues. He is a guest lecturer at several university graduate schools, and a frequent speaker at major global economic forums. Education Zhu Min was born in Shanghai, China, in 1952. Yu Yongding
Yu Yongding (余永定) is a Chinese economist, with widely recognized influence in Chinese economic policy debates. Biography and academic career Yu was born in Nanjing in November 1948 in a family with ancestry from Taishan, Guangdong. He graduated from Beijing Steel and Iron Institute in 1969, received an MA in economics from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1983, and a D.Phil. in economics from Oxford in 1994. He worked at Beijing Heavy Machinery Factory (北京第二通用机械厂) from 1969 to 1979. Yi Gang
Yi Gang () (born 5 March 1958) is the Governor of the People's Bank of China since 2018. He is also the former Director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. Biography Yi Gang was born in Beijing, March 5, 1958. Wu Jinglian
Wu Jinglian (; born January 24, 1930) is one of the preeminent economists of the People's Republic of China (PRC), primarily specializing in economic policy as it applies to China's ongoing series of economic reforms. Renowned for his resolute conviction that socialism is compatible with a market system, he is affectionately referred to in the media as Wu Shichang (). Justin Yifu Lin
Justin Yifu Lin (; born on October 15, 1952) is a Chinese economist and professor of economics at Peking University. He served as the Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank from 2008 to 2012. He has been appointed as China State Council Counsellor since September 2013. As a ground force captain and company commander on Kinmen Islands, Lin swam across a channel and sought refuge in Xiamen, Mainland China in May 1979. Lin turned into an economist after pursuing graduate studies in economics at Peking University and the University of Chicago, where he respectively received a master of economics in 1982 and a PhD degree in 1986. Jiang Jianqing (; born 1 February 1953) is the former Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the world's largest bank by assets and 2nd market value; he held the position from 2005 to 2016. Jiang Chaoliang (; born 1 August 1957) is a Chinese politician and investor. In the past, he has served as the governor of Jilin province in Northeast China, and an executive at China Development Bank and the Agricultural Bank of China. Huang Qifan
Huang Qifan (, born May 1952) is a Chinese politician, best known for his term as the Mayor of Chongqing, one of China's four directly-controlled municipalities, between 2010 and 2016.
