China Chang Feng
China Changfeng Mechanics and Electronics Technology Academy (中国长峰机电技术研究设计院) or China Changfeng, founded in 1957, is one of the four design academies under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). It is located on Yongding Road, in the western suburbs of Beijing, and employs more than 16,000 personnel. Changfeng conducts research, development and production of air and missile defense, ASAT, and associated radar systems. It is also responsible for several SAM systems, including the HQ-2, HQ-7, and HQ-61. Changfeng developed the 8610 SRBM based on the HQ-2 SAM, previously developed by the academy. China Aerospace Science And Technology Corporation
The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, or CASC, is the main contractor for the Chinese space program. It is state-owned and has subsidiaries which design, develop and manufacture a range of spacecraft, launch vehicles, strategic and tactical missile systems, and ground equipment. It was officially established in July 1999 as part of a Chinese government reform drive, having previously been one part of the former China Aerospace Corporation. Various incarnations of the program date back to 1956. Along with space and defense manufacture, CASC also produces machinery, chemicals, communications equipment, transportation equipment, computers, medical care products and environmental protection equipment. The HQ-6, also known as LY-60, is a family of Chinese air defense missiles developed by the Shanghai Academy of Science and Technology, largely based on the Chinese PL-11 and Italian Selenia (now as Leonardo S.p.A.) Aspide missile. Development HQ-6 is a surface-to-air missile system developed by the Shanghai Academy of Science and Technology, incorporating technologies from PL-11 missile. The Julang-1 (, also known as the JL-1; NATO reporting name CSS-N-3) was China's first generation nuclear submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM). According to a US Department of Defense report in 2011, the operational status of the JL-1 was "questionable". The Dong-Feng 21 (DF-21; NATO reporting name CSS-5 - Dong-Feng () is a two-stage, solid-fuel rocket, single-warhead medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) in the Dong Feng series developed by China Changfeng Mechanics and Electronics Technology Academy.
