The People's Republic of China competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024. It was the nation's twelfth appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut in 1952. However, China did not participate in the next seven games: 1956; the nation was absent in 1960 and 1964 over a dispute with Taiwan; 1968; 1972 due to issues with GANEFO; 1976 due to Republic of China boycott; and 1980, joining the US led boycott. The nation has participated in every Olympics since the 1984 Summer Olympics. China competed in every single sport except for football and handball. China finished the 2024 Games with 91 medals, including 40 gold medals, 27 silver medals and 24 bronze medals. This performance ranks them first in the gold medals and second in overall medal count, tying them with the United States for having the most gold medals among NOCs. Diving At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Women's Synchronized 3 Metre Springboard
The women's 3 metre synchronised springboard diving competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris ran on 27 July 2024 at the Paris Aquatics Centre. It was the 7th appearance of the event, which has been held at every Olympic Games since the 2000 Summer Olympics. Competition format The competition will be held in a single round, consisting of each pair performing five dives. Each dive is from a different group (forward, back, reverse, inward, and twisting). The first two dives are given a fixed degree of difficulty of 2.0, regardless of the dive performed. The other four dives were assigned a degree of difficulty based on somersaults, position, twists, approach, and entry. The diving competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 10 August 2024 at the Paris Aquatics Centre. A total of 136 divers, with an equal distribution between men and women, will compete across eight medal events (four per gender in both individual and synchronized) at these Games, the exact same amount as Tokyo 2020. Qualification 136 diving quota places, with an equal split between men and women, are available for Paris 2024; NOCs can enter a maximum of two divers each in the men's and women's individual events and a gender-based pair in the synchronized events, respecting a sixteen-member (eight per gender) country limit. Chen Yiwen (; born 15 June 1999) is a Chinese diver. Early life Born on 1999, Chen's father was from Hainan, while her mother was from Zhanjiang, Guangdong. When she was almost nine years old, she went to Guangdong for training and entered sports school in Chikan District of Zhanjiang to begin training for her diving career. In August 2008, she officially entered the Zhongshan diving team. Soon after entering the Zhongshan team, Chen was selected into the Guangdong Provincial Sports School. In October 2010, Chen entered the Guangdong diving team and in 2014, she officially became a professional athlete. Sports career In November 2016, Chen was selected into the national diving team. Chang Yani (; born 7 December 2001) is a Chinese diver. Chang won all four legs of the 2016 FINA Diving World Series in the 10 metre mixed platform synchronized event together with Tai Xiaohu. In the 2017 FINA Diving World Series Chang won two gold medals in the women's synchronized 10 metre platform event together with Ren Qian. Together with Shi Tingmao she won two gold medals in the women's synchronized 3 metre springboard event. The pair became world champions at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest.
