Chilton Independent School District
Chilton Independent School District is a public school district based in the community of Chilton, Texas (USA). In addition to Chilton, the district serves a portion of Golinda. Chilton ISD has one school that serves students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. Chilton Independent School District, or more commonly referred to as Chilton High School, prides itself on its success in various regions of extra-curricular activities, most notably football, in which Chilton won their second 1A state football championship in 2006. Chilton is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Falls County, Texas, United States. It had a population of 776 at the 2020 census. It is located in western Falls County. U.S. Route 77 forms the western edge of the community, leading north to Waco and south to Rosebud. Texas State Highway 7 passes through the center of Chilton, leading east to Marlin, the county seat, and west to Bruceville-Eddy. Falls County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 16,968. The county seat is Marlin. It is named for the original 10-foot-tall waterfall on the Brazos River, which existed until the river changed course during a storm in 1866.
