Chillout Sessions XI
''Chillout Sessions'' is a series of compilations released by Ministry of Sound that focus on songs from the chillout genre. Songs on Chillout Sessions compilations vary in style from lounge to electronica and are released by many different artists. The Chillout Out genre of compilations started in the UK and since 2003 Ministry of Sound has released them under different tropes such as "Chilled", "After Hours", "The Morning After..." which has shown MOS to have seemingly ended its branding of the genre as Chillout Sessions. A similar series started in Australia, where the series changed its name from The Chillout Session to The Chillout Sessions and then simply to Chillout Sessions and continued until 2016 with XIX until the record label rebranded to TMRW following the acquisition of MoS by Sony in the UK. Ministry of Sound or Ministry of Sound Group is a multimedia entertainment business based in London with a nightclub, shared workspace and private members' club, worldwide events operation, music publishing business and fitness studio. James Palumbo is the co-founder and former chairman and CEO of the Group. He handed over the day-to-day running of the business to Lohan Presencer in 2008. In 2018, Presencer became chairman. "No Ordinary Morning" / "Halcyon" is a double A-side single by the British electronic dance music artist Chicane. It was released as the third single from his second studio album, '' Behind the Sun'' on 10 July 2000. The single reached number twenty-eight on the UK Singles Chart. "No Ordinary Morning" features the vocals of Tracy Ackerman and is co-written by Ray Hedges. "Halcyon" refers to ''Halcyon'', a genus of kingfishers (specifically, those of the Halcyonidae family) in scientific classification, as is evident by the opening moments of the song, where a kingfisher's call is heard before the tempo starts to pick up and the song begins. Thievery Corporation
Thievery Corporation is an American electronic music duo consisting of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. Their musical style mixes elements of dub, acid jazz, reggae, Indian classical, Middle Eastern music, hip hop and Brazilian music, including bossa nova. History Thievery Corporation was formed in the summer of 1995 at Washington D.C.'s Eighteenth Street Lounge. Rob Garza and Lounge co-owner Eric Hilton were drawn together over their mutual love of club life, as well as dub, bossa nova and jazz records. Tim Lee, also known as Tim 'Love' Lee (born January 1970, Cambridge, England) is an English musician, record producer and DJ. He is the founder of Tummy Touch Records. He is most notable as a pioneer of electronic dance music and trip hop, his debut album having been among ''Fact'' magazine's 50 best trip hop albums of all time. Since the mid 1990s Lee has released six artist albums, two compilations, twenty seven singles and three commercially available DJ mix albums. He has produced over seventy remixes for other artists. LTJ Bukem
Daniel Williamson (born 20 September 1967), better known as LTJ Bukem (), is a British drum and bass musician, producer and DJ. He and his record label Good Looking are most associated with the jazzy, atmospheric side of drum and bass music. Life and career Bukem was trained as a classical pianist and discovered jazz fusion in his teenage years, having a jazz funk band at one stage. By the late 1980s, he decided to become a DJ and gained fame in the rave scene of the early 1990s. His stage name came from his nickname "Book 'em" which derived from the TV show Hawaii Five-O where the character Steve McGarrett would say "Book 'em Danno" when someone was arrested. "The Sun Rising" is a song by English electronic music group the Beloved. It was released in October 1989 as the second single from their second album, ''Happiness'' (1990), and became a club favourite. The song also was the group's first top 40 hit in the UK, peaking at number 26 on the UK Singles Chart in November 1989. In 1997, the song was re-released, reaching number 31 in the UK. Sample The female vocal sample in "The Sun Rising" is from a song titled "O Euchari", sung by Emily Van Evera on the album ''A Feather on the Breath of God'' by Gothic Voices. World Party were a British musical group, which was essentially the solo project of its sole member, Karl Wallinger. He started the band in 1986 in London after leaving the Waterboys. Robert Don Hunter Dougan () is an Australian composer, known for his genre-blending music. Mixing elements of orchestral music, trip hop, and bluesy vocals, his work is tangentially relatable to electronic music. He is known primarily for his breakthrough 1995 single " Clubbed to Death (Kurayamino Variation)", further popularised by 1999's ''The Matrix'' soundtrack.
