Chile Davis Cup Team
The Chile men's national tennis team represents Chile in Davis Cup tennis tournament and is governed by Federación de tenis de Chile. The team played in the World Group on 2019 and reached the final one time in 1976, losing the cup against Italy in Santiago. Chile is currently #21 in the ITF Davis Cup rankings. The team is currently captained by former Chilean tennis player Nicolás Massú. History Chile began playing at the Davis Cup in 1928, but would not win a tie until 1933, away at Uruguay, winning their first home tie in 1969, against Argentina. That was their only second home tie in their history. The team's most successful performance at the Davis Cup was in 1976, losing 1–4 to the Italian team in the final held in Santiago, Chile. Since then, Chile have reached the quarterfinals in three occasions: in 1982, losing 1-4 against Australia, in 2006, losing to the USA 2-3, and in 2010, losing to the Czechs 1-4. The Barbados national tennis team represents Barbados in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Barbados Tennis Association. History Barbados competed in its first Davis Cup in 1990. Barbadian players previously competed on the Caribbean/West Indies team. In 1990, Barbados debuted in Group II of the Americas Zone (the lowest tier at that time). Dominican Republic Davis Cup Team
The Dominican Republic national tennis team represents the Dominican Republic in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Federación Dominicana de Tenis. The Dominican Republic currently compete in the Americas Zone of Group I. History The Dominican Republic competed in its first Davis Cup in 1989. In 2010, the Dominican Republic reached Americas Zone Group I for the first time. The country once again reached Americas Zone Group I in 2012 after defeating Mexico in the final, with a 3-2 result. In September, 2013, the Dominican Republic maintained its Americas Zone Group I status after beating Chile 4-1 in the relegation play-off. The Israel men's national tennis team (Hebrew: נבחרת גביע דייוויס של ישראל) represents Israel in Davis Cup tennis competition and is governed by the Israel Tennis Association. As of June 2020, Jonathan Erlich became Captain of the team. The team plays primarily in Canada Stadium, which is the main venue of the Tennis Center in Ramat Hasharon, Tel Aviv District, Israel. The stadium is known for its high intensity, tough crowd, and good home environment. The surface is considered hard by world standards, a feature that plays to the advantage of Israeli competitors already used to it. The Austria Davis Cup team represents Austria in the Davis Cup and is governed by Tennis Austria. In 2010 Austria was re-promoted to the World Group after being relegated to the Europa/Africa Zone Group I only one year earlier.
