Chile competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024. Since the nation's debut in 1896, Chilean athletes have appeared in all but five editions of the Summer Olympics of the modern era. Chile did not attend the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles at the period of the worldwide Great Depression and was also part of the US-led boycott, when Moscow hosted the 1980 Summer Olympics. Chile's opening ceremony flagbearers were Nicolás Jarry and Antonia Abraham. The nation won a gold medal for the first time since 2004. The Chilean Olympic Committee (COCh) (:es:Comité Olímpico Chile, Comité Olímpico Chile) is a non-profit private organization composed of all Chilean sports federations who join it and accept its governance through statutes and regulations. It was created on 20 June 1934 and recognised the same year by the International Olympic Committee. The Committee is the organization in charge of coordinating Olympic activities in Chile. Yasmani Acosta
Yasmani Acosta Fernández (born 16 July 1988) is a Cuban-born naturalized Chilean Greco-Roman wrestler who currently competes at 130 kilograms. Acosta qualified Chile for the 2020 Summer Olympics by winning the gold medal from the 2020 Pan American Olympic Qualification Tournament. Competing for Chile since 2017, he has claimed the 2018 South American Games gold medal, prestigious bronze medals from the 2017 World Championships and the 2019 Pan American Games and has also become a two–time Pan American Continental Championship medalist, earning silver in 2017 and bronze in 2018.
