Holocaust survivors are people who survived the Holocaust, defined as the persecution and attempted annihilation of the Jews by Nazi Germany and Axis powers, its allies before and during World War II in Europe and North Africa. There is no universally accepted definition of the term, and it has been applied variously to Jews who survived the war in German-occupied Europe or other Axis territories, as well as to those who fled to Allies (World War II), Allied and Neutral powers during World War II, neutral countries before or during the war. In some cases, non-Jews who also experienced collective persecution under the Nazi regime are also considered Holocaust survivors. The definition has evolved over time. Jeanne Beker, (; born 19 March 1952) is a Canadian television personality, fashion editor, and author. Michael Dean Cohen (born August 25, 1966) is an American former lawyer who served as an attorney for U.S. president Donald Trump from 2006 to 2018. Pedro Rubén Brieger (born 5 November 1955, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine journalist and sociologist. He is a professor of Middle East Sociology at the University of Buenos Aires Faculty of Social Sciences. Lily Brett (born Lilijahne Brajtsztajn 5 September 1946, Feldafing displaced persons camp, Bavaria, Germany) is an Australian novelist, essayist and poet. She lived in North Carlton and then Elwood/Caulfield (suburbs of Melbourne) from 1948 to 1968, in London 1968–1971, Melbourne (1971–1989) and then moved permanently to New York City. In Australia she had an early career as a pop music journalist, including writing for music magazine ''Go-Set'' from May 1966 to September 1968.
