Chicago Cheetahs
The Chicago Cheetahs were a professional roller hockey team based in Chicago, Illinois, United States that played in Roller Hockey International. The Cheetahs joined the league in 1994. The Cheetahs were part-owned by basketball legend George Mikan. Former Chicago Blackhawks star Al Secord was part of the Cheetahs in 1994, as were future Chicago Wolves players Bobby Nardella, Jeff Rohlicek and Tim Breslin. The Cheetahs played at the UIC Pavilion during the 1994 regular season in front of an average of 2,000 fans per game, but moved their playoff home games to the Odeum in suburban Villa Park to save money. Tim Breslin
Timothy G. Breslin (December 8, 1967 – February 9, 2005) was a professional ice hockey left wing. Breslin played eight seasons in the International Hockey League (IHL) with the Phoenix Roadrunners and Chicago Wolves and part of a season in the ECHL with the South Carolina Stingrays. He also played major league roller hockey in Roller Hockey International (RHI) with the Chicago Cheetahs. Breslin attended Lake Superior State University. While a freshman he helped the Lakers win the school's first national championship in 1988. He served as an alternate captain in his senior season while also tying two school records, points in a game (7) and points in a series (10). Undrafted out of college, he signed with the Los Angeles Kings as a free agent. He spent four years in their minor league system playing for Phoenix and South Carolina. Harry York
Harold Cameron York (born April 16, 1974) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played several seasons in the National Hockey League. Playing career Born in Ponoka, Alberta, York was the Alberta Junior Hockey League MVP and leading scorer in 1994–95 while playing for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, but was not drafted. York caught on with the Nashville Knights of the ECHL the following season. An 83-point campaign for Nashville finally caught the eye of NHL scouts, and he was signed by the St. Louis Blues just before the end of the 1995–96 season, adding 8 goals in 13 games for the Blues' farm team in Worcester. York would make the Blues' NHL roster in 1996–97 as a complete unknown and surprise everyone by flying out of the gates as one of the NHL's leading rookie scorers. Ron Handy
Ronald Handy (born January 15, 1963) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player who played 14 games in the National Hockey League. Biography Handy was born in Toronto, Ontario. As a youth, he played in the 1976 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Toronto Shopsy's minor ice hockey team. Handy played with the New York Islanders and St. Louis Blues. Handy was more known for his lengthy and traveled career through the minor league circuits of hockey. His last stop as a player was as a member of the Arkansas Riverblades, which he became the head coach of after retiring as a player. On July 31, 2015, Ron Handy was inducted into The Committee Hall of Fame. He was only one of six members inducted into the 2015 Committee HOF Class.
