Chicago Cardinals (ice Hockey)
The Chicago Cardinals were a professional ice hockey team playing in the American Hockey Association. The team only played one season in the league. It was notable because it was founded by Eddie Livingstone, a Toronto businessman, who had owned an ice hockey team in the National Hockey Association (NHA) and whose actions led the owners of the NHA to disband the league and form the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1917. The Cardinals were formed by Livingstone in an attempt to bring about a rival league to the NHL. Because of the Cardinals, the NHL attacked the AHA and attempted to steal its players. The Cardinals would fold under the pressure placed on the league and the team. Livingstone would attempt to recoup his losses by selling the team, but this was denied. Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. Jim Seaborn
Thomas James Seaborn (March 6, 1890 – January 15, 1964) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association for the Vancouver Millionaires. Playing career Seaborn was a defenceman who played for the Vancouver Millionaires during the 1914–15 and 1915–16 seasons. Seaborn fought in World War I with the Canadian Army before returning to hockey in 1919 with the Everett Reds. Gerald John Morrison Munro (November 20, 1897 – January 28, 1968) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played two seasons in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Maroons and the Toronto St. Pats between 1924 and 1926. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1919 to 1931, was mainly spent in the amateur senior Northern Ontario Hockey Association and minor American Hockey Association. William Edward Dixon Graham (June 30, 1904 in Owen Sound, Ontario – January 11, 1979) was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. Dixon played ten seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Chicago Black Hawks, Montreal Maroons, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Eagles, Boston Bruins and New York Americans between 1927 and 1937. Prior to turning professional Graham played for the Owen Sound Greys, winning the 1924 Memorial Cup as Canadian junior champions.
