Chibuzor Okonkwo
Chibuzor Augustine Okonkwo (born 16 December 1988) is a Nigerian footballer who currently plays as a full-back for Kwara United F.C. Although he is naturally right-footed, he can play on either side of the pitch. Career In January 2007 Okonkwo moved from Gabros International (now Ifeanyi Ubah F.C.) to Bayelsa United F.C., where he won the 2008-09 League MVP award after helping Bayelsa win their first ever league title. On 6 October 2009, Okonkwo signed for Heartland F.C. The deal fell through however and he returned to Bayelsa. On 23 August 2010, he was to move to Russian Premier side FC Rostov. But the deal was eventually quashed due to disagreement over wages. He returned home to sign for Heartland, where his mentor Samson Siasia was in charge. Samson Siasia (born 14 August 1967) is a Nigerian former professional football striker and the former head coach of the Nigeria national team from 2010 to October 2011. He was reappointed in 2016. On 16 August 2019, FIFA banned Siasia from all football activities for life (later reduced to five years), following a match-fixing investigation. The adjudicatory chamber of FIFA’s independent Ethics Committee alleged that the former Nigerian coach is guilty of "bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics". The DR Congo national football team, recognised by FIFA as Congo DR (formerly known as Zaire, alternatively known as Congo-Kinshasa), represents the Democratic Republic of the Congo in men's international football and it is controlled by the Congolese Association Football Federation. Shuaibu Amodu (18 April 1958 – 10 June 2016) was a Nigerian football player and coach who played as a forward. Playing career Amodu, a striker, played for Dumez and Niger Tornadoes. His playing career ended after he broke his leg. Coaching career Amodu managed a number of club sides in Nigeria, such as BCC Lions, El-Kanemi Warriors and Shooting Stars; he also managed Orlando Pirates in South Africa. He first managed the Nigerian national team from April 2001 to February 2002. The Nigerian National League (formerly known as ''National Division 1'') is the second tier of club football in Nigeria. History From 1997-2011, the league has been split into 1A for Northern teams and 1B for southern teams. The top two from each division are promoted to the Nigerian Premier League the next season.
