Chiang Chia
Chiang Chia (, born 29 September 1942 in Datong, Taipei) is former manager of Chinese Taipei national football team. He currently teaches in National Taipei College of Business. Chiang, majoring physical education, graduated from Taiwan Provincial College of Physical Education in the year of 1965. After finishing serving military service, he became a teacher and a coach in primary education and worked hard to promote football activities. He has served many positions in Chinese Taipei Football Association and taken on the responsibility of national team manager during 1984 Summer Olympics and 1986 FIFA World Cup The 1986 FIFA World Cup was the 13th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. Chinese Taipei National Football Team
The Chinese Taipei national football team represents Taiwan (the Republic of China) in international football and is controlled by the Chinese Taipei Football Association. Despite never qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, Chinese Taipei, then known as Republic of China, reached the semi-finals of the 1960 and 1968 AFC Asian Cups, finishing third in the former. The side also won gold at the 1954 and 1958 Asian Games, although the players in the team originated from British Hong Kong. Datong District, Taipei
Datong District or Tatung is a district of Taipei City, Taiwan. It is located between the Taipei Metro Red Line and eastern shore of the Tamsui River, and between Civic Boulevard and the Sun Yat-sen Freeway. The southern part of this area used to be the site of Twatutia, one of the first settlements in what is now Taipei and for a time the area's commercial center. Taipei's commercial center has since shifted south east to Zhongzheng, Da'an and Xinyi, and Datong is far less important economically. Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) is the governing body for football in the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan). Its official name in Chinese is the Republic of China Football Association, but due to the political status of Taiwan it is billed abroad as the "Chinese Taipei Football Association" and uses the English initials TPE on its badge. The CTFA organizes the men's and women's national teams and administers the territory's professional league the Taiwan Football Premier League. The 1986 FIFA World Cup was the 13th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was played in Mexico from 31 May to 29 June 1986. The tournament was the second to feature a 24-team format. Colombia had been originally chosen to host the competition by FIFA but, largely due to economic reasons, was not able to do so, and resigned in 1982. Mexico was selected as the new host in May 1983, and became the first country to host the World Cup more than once, after previously hosting in 1970. The World Cup was won by Argentina (their second title, after winning in 1978).
