Chhapamar Ko Chhoro
''Chhapamar ko Chhoro'' () is a Nepali short story collection by Mahesh Bikram Shah. The book was published in 2007 by Sajha Prakashan. The book won the prestigious Madan Puraskar for the year 2063 BS (2007-2008). The anthology consists of eighteen stories centered around Maoist insurgency in Nepal. Background Shah is a police officer. The stories are based on the difficulties of ordinary people during the Maoist insurgency in Nepal. Sajha Prakashan
Sajha Publications ( ne, साझा प्रकाशन, lit=Common Publication, translit=Sajha Prakashan) is the oldest publishing house of Nepal. It was established in 1913 and is funded by the Government of Nepal. Headquartered in Lalitpur, it has regional branches in Biratnagar, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Dhangadi. Litterateur and former bureaucrat Prahlad Pokhrel is the general manager of the publishing house. History Sajha Publications was established in 1913 (1970 BS) by the then prime minister of Nepal, Chandra Shumsher as ''Gorkha Bhasa Prakashani Samiti'' (Gorkha Language Publishing Committee). It was renamed as ''Nepali Bhasa Prakashani Samiti'' (Nepali Language Publishing Committee) in 1933 (1990 BS). It was finally revamped as ''Sajha Prakashan'' in 1964 (2021 BS). The Nepalese Civil War was a protracted armed conflict that took place in the former Kingdom of Nepal from 1996 to 2006. The Madan Puraskar ( ne, मदन पुरस्कार) is a literary honor in Nepal which Madan Puraskar Guthi confers annually for an outstanding book in the Nepali language published within the calendar year. It is considered the most prestigious literature award in Nepal. It is awarded on the day of Ghatasthapana every year alongside Jagadamba Shree Puraskar. History The award was established by daughter in law of Prime Minister Chandra Shumsher JBR, Queen Jagadamba Kumari Devi, in memory of her husband late General Madan Shumsher JBR, on 26 September 1955. ''Baikuntha Express'' (Nepali:वैकुण्ठ एक्सप्रेस) is a play written by Mohan Raj Sharma . It was published in 1985 by Sajha Prakashan. The book was awarded Madan Puraskar in 2042 BS. Synopsis The play portrays a story of a travel in a mini bus. The bus has a driver, a helper and 17 passengers, and it is going to ''Baikuntha'' (the paradise). It is the second novel of the author who previously penned a novel called ''Paniko Gham''. It won the Madan Puraskar, the biggest literary award in Nepal. Synopsis The story is based on the life of a girl named Tara. She is a simple girl living in her village spending her time playing with other children of same village. While the story goes on, she gets married at the age of seven, the very age at which she does not even understand the meaning of marriage.
