Cheyenne Mountain High School
Cheyenne Mountain High School (CMHS) is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. It is the only high school in Cheyenne Mountain School District 12. Its campus contains several buildings, including a recreation center, library, cafeteria, and an arts building. History In 2004, Cheyenne Mountain School District was designated one of the top 100 school districts in the nation. It is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School. The district is ranked nationally for its renowned fine arts and athletic programs. In 2016, construction crews finished the process of improving the school by renovating the academic building, athletic fields, and other parts of the school. Mascot On March 7, 2021 the Cheyenne Mountain school board voted to retire the current high school mascot, an American Indian wearing the traditional headdress. David John Mlicki (born June 8, 1968) is a former right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). Between 1992 and 2002, he played for the Cleveland Indians, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, and Houston Astros. Career After attending Oklahoma State University he was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 17th round of the 1990 amateur draft. Caryn Kadavy
Caryn Kadavy (born December 9, 1967) is an American professional figure skater and former competitor. She is the 1987 World bronze medalist and a four-time U.S. national medalist. She also competed at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Career Kadavy was born in Erie, Pennsylvania. As an amateur, she won medals at the U.S. Championships four years in a row, including silver in 1986. She won several competitions in 1985: the U.S. Olympic Festival, Skate Canada International, and the Moscow News Cup. Hayes Alan Jenkins (born March 23, 1933) is an American former figure skater. He is the 1956 Olympic champion, a four-time World champion (1953–1956), and a four-time U.S. national champion (1953–1956). Personal life Jenkins was born on March 23, 1933, in Akron, Ohio, the elder brother of David Jenkins, also an American former figure skater. He attended Colorado College and Harvard Law School. He went on to work for the Goodyear tire company as an international lawyer. In 1961, Jenkins married U.S. figure skater Carol Heiss, who won silver at the 1956 Olympics and gold in 1960. David Wilkinson Jenkins (born June 29, 1936) is an American former figure skater. He is the 1960 Olympic champion, the 1956 Olympic bronze medalist, a three-time World champion, and a four-time U.S. national champion. Personal life Jenkins was born on June 29, 1936, in Akron, Ohio. He is the younger brother of Hayes Alan Jenkins, also an American former figure skater. He studied at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine during his competitive career. He took a leave of absence during his time with Ice Follies. After graduating in 1963, he became a practicing physician. Jenkins graduated with an M.D. in 1963 and immediately after served two years in the U.S. Air Force. Todd Gilles
Todd Gilles (born April 14, 1986) is an American former ice dancer. With Trina Pratt, he won four ISU Junior Grand Prix medals and the 2005 U.S. national junior title, and placed sixth at the 2006 World Junior Championships. With Jane Summersett, he is the 2008 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalist. He also skated with Emily Samuelson for one season. Personal life Todd Gilles was born in Rockford, Illinois. Piper Gilles (; born January 16, 1992) is an American-Canadian ice dancer who currently represents Canada internationally. With Paul Poirier, she is the 2021 World bronze medalist and 2022–23 Grand Prix Final champion, as well as a three-time Four Continents medalist (silver in 2014 and 2020, bronze in 2019), three-time Skate Canada International champion (2019, 2021–22), and two-time Canadian national champion (2020, 2022). Alexe Gilles (born January 16, 1992) is an American former competitive figure skater. Gilles is the 2008 Junior Grand Prix Final bronze medalist and the 2008 U.S. national junior champion. Personal life Gilles was born in Rockford, Illinois. She graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 2010. She is the sister of Piper Gilles (twin), Todd Gilles, Kemper Gilles and Shelby Gilles. Peggy Gale Fleming (born July 27, 1948) is an American former figure skater and the only American in the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France to bring home a Gold Medal. She is the 1968 Olympic Champion in Ladies' singles and a three-time World Champion (1966–1968). Fleming has been a television commentator in figure skating for over 20 years, including several Winter Olympic Games. Maxwell Theodore "Max" Aaron (born February 25, 1992) is an American former figure skater. He is the 2013 U.S. national champion, the 2015 Skate America champion, the 2011 U.S. national junior champion, and a three-time U.S. International Classic champion (2012, 2013, and 2014).
