Chester Feldman
Chester Feldman (January 8, 1926 – May 25, 1997) was an American producer of game shows born in The Bronx, New York, who was also associated with Mark Goodson Productions. Biography Before beginning his career in television, Feldman served in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he attended the University of Missouri where he earned a degree in journalism. Feldman first began his career as a radio producer. He later moved to television where he produced ''I've Got a Secret'', ''Card Sharks'' (in which he created and was a creative consultant for the British version, ''Play Your Cards Right'' for the first series) and many other game shows. I've Got A Secret
''I've Got a Secret'' is an American panel game show produced by Mark Goodson and Bill Todman for CBS television. Created by comedy writers Allan Sherman and Howard Merrill, it was a derivative of Goodson-Todman's own panel show, ''What's My Line?'' Instead of celebrity panelists trying to determine a contestant's occupation, as in ''What's My Line,'' the panel tried to determine a contestant's secret: something that is unusual, amazing, embarrassing, or humorous about that person. The original version of ''I've Got a Secret'' premiered on CBS on June 19, 1952, and ran until April 3, 1967. The show began broadcasting in black and white and switched to color in 1966, when all commercial prime time network programs in the US began to be produced in color. Card Sharks
''Card Sharks'' is an American television game show. It was created by Chester Feldman for Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. The game features two contestants who attempt to predict the outcome of survey questions to gain control of a row of oversized playing cards, then determine whether the next card drawn is higher or lower. The title ''Card Sharks'' is a play on the term "card sharp", a person skilled at card games. The concept has been made into a series four separate times since its debut in 1978, and also appeared as part of CBS's '' Gameshow Marathon''. The show originally ran on NBC from 1978 to 1981 with Jim Perry hosting. The show returned and ran from 1986 to 1989 on CBS with Bob Eubanks as host, accompanied by a syndication production with Bill Rafferty. Gene Wood was the announcer in both the 1970s and 1980s. ''Play Your Cards Right'' (or ''Bruce Forsyth's Play Your Cards Right'') is a British television game show based on, and played similarly to, the American show ''Card Sharks''. History ''Play Your Cards Right'' broadcast on ITV from 1 February 1980 to 22 November 1987, produced by LWT, and hosted by Bruce Forsyth. LWT produced a more modern version from 18 March 1994 to 4 June 1999, initially expected to be presented by Brian Conley, who filmed a pilot show before Forsyth was lured back after he unexpectedly quit The Generation Game.
