Chester Himes
Chester Bomar Himes (July 29, 1909 – November 12, 1984) was an American writer. His works, some of which have been filmed, include ''If He Hollers Let Him Go'', published in 1945, and the Harlem Detective series of novels for which he is best known, set in the 1950s and early 1960s and featuring two black policemen called Grave Digger Jones and Coffin Ed Johnson. In 1958 Himes won France's Grand Prix de Littérature Policière. Chester Cheetah is a fictional character and the official mascot for Frito-Lay's Cheetos brand snacks as well as Chester's Snacks which consists of flavored fries, popcorn and puffcorn. Chester Sidney Williams (1907–1992) was an American educator and writer who wrote extensively about education and freedoms. Williams received a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He worked as a representative of the Convention des Etudiants from 1928-1929. From 1930-1931 he was the Executive Secretary for the National Student Federation of America. He was a lecturer for adult education forums (1932–1934); Assistant to the U.S. Commission of Education (1934–1936); and Assistant Administrator of Federal Forum Program (1936–1941) under John W. Chester Williams
Chester Mornay Williams (8 August 1970 – 6 September 2019) was a South African rugby union player. He played as a winger for the South Africa national rugby union team (Springboks) from 1993 to 2000, most notably for the team that won the 1995 Rugby World Cup, which was hosted in South Africa. He was the only non-white player on the team. During the tournament he scored four tries for South Africa in its quarter-final match and also appeared in the semi-final and final. Chester Cortez Thompson (born December 11, 1948) is an American drummer best known for his tenures with Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention, Weather Report, Santana, the progressive rock band Genesis and Phil Collins as a solo artist. Chester Lamar Taylor (born September 22, 1979) also known as Che Tay is a former American football running back in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. In 2006, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings and played four seasons before signing with the Chicago Bears. James Chester Manifold (10 February 1867 – 30 October 1918) was an Australian politician and philanthropist. Early life Manifold was born in Camperdown, Victoria, attended Geelong Grammar School, and went to England with his family in 1881. However, the family returned to Australia because the northern climate did not agree with his health, and he subsequently attended Melbourne Church of England Grammar School. When he came into possession of a property left to him by his father, he mostly rented it to dairy farmers, to whom he later sold the land on liberal terms.
