Cheryl Koopman
Cheryl Ann Koopman (June 14, 1950—May 14, 2019) was an American social psychologist, behavioral scientist, and international relations scholar. As a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford University and the Stanford University School of Medicine, Koopman was an expert on the social and political context of diseases and diagnosis, quality of life interventions among people living with cancer, and the psychology of problems in international relations like nuclear war prevention. She was the President of the International Society of Political Psychology. Life and career Koopman was born on June 14, 1950, in Red Bluff, California. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she obtained a B.A. degree in psychology in 1972. Red Bluff, California
Red Bluff is a city in and the county seat of Tehama County, California, United States. The population was 14,710 at the 2020 census, up from 14,076 at the 2010 census. It is located north of Sacramento, south of Redding, and it is bisected by Interstate 5. Red Bluff is situated on the banks of the upper Sacramento River. It was originally known as Leodocia, but was renamed to Covertsburg in 1853. It got its current name in 1854. Located at the head of navigation on the Sacramento River the town flourished in the mid to late 19th century as a landing point for miners heading to the Trinity County gold fields and later as a temporary terminus for the Southern Pacific Railroad's northward expansion.
