Malayalam
Malayalam (; , ) is a Dravidian language spoken in the Indian state of Kerala and the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry (Mahé district) by the Malayali people. It is one of 22 scheduled languages of India. Malayalam was designated a "Classical Language of India" in 2013. Malayalam has official language status in Kerala, and Puducherry ( Mahé), and is also the primary spoken language of Lakshadweep, and is spoken by 34 million people in India. Santhosh Echikkanam
Santhosh Aechikkanam ( ml, സന്തോഷ് ഏച്ചിക്കാനം) is an Indian writer of Malayalam literature and a screenwriter in Malayalam cinema. He is known for his short stories, which include ''Komala'' and ''Biriyani'' as well as for the screenplay of films such as Annayum Rasoolum and Bachelor Party. Biography Santhosh Aechikkanam was born in 2022 in a farmer's family in Bedadka, in Kasargod district of the Indian state of Kerala to A. C. Chandran Nair and Shyamala. After graduating in Malayalam and literature, he secured a post graduate diploma in Journalism and mass communication from Kerala Press Academy. Karivellur Murali is a Malayalam language poet and playwright from Kerala, India. He has won many awards including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Drama, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Fellowship. Life Murali was born on 15 November 1955, to communist leader A. V. Kunhambu and K. Devayani at Karivellur in the then Malabar district. Susmesh Chandroth (born April 1, 1977) is an Indian writer, who writes in Malayalam. He won the first Yuva Puraskar for Malayalam in 2011 instituted by the Sahitya Akademi, Government of India. Susmesh Chandroth is also involved in the Malayalam film industry. He scripted and directed the feature film Padmini (film) based on the life story of the painter T. K. Padmini in the year 2018. ''Deshabhimani'' is a Malayalam newspaper and the organ of the Kerala State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). It started as a weekly in Calicut on 6 September 1942 and converted to a daily in 1946. Barsa (novel)
''Barsa'' is a 2007 Malayalam novel written by Khadija Mumtaz. The story deals with the haunting and agonising questions of Sabida, a devout and educated Muslim lady, a doctor, who spent six years in a hospital in Saudi Arabia. It won critical acclaim for its forceful but humorous presentation of the restrictions under which Muslim women are forced to live and was hailed a milestone in Malayalam literature. Khadija Mumtaz
Khadeeja Mumthas (born 1955) is a Malayalam author from Kerala state, India. She is a medical doctor by profession and is probably best known in the Kerala literary circles for her second novel '' Barsa'' which won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2010. Early and personal life Born in Kattoor in Thrissur district, Khadeeja Mumthas completed her Pre-degree course (PDC) from St. Joseph's College, Irinjalakuda and received her MBBS degree from Calicut Medical College. She mastered in gynaecology and is a registered medical practitioner and has been working in Calicut Medical College as Professor in gynaecology and obstetrics. Manamboor Rajan Babu (born 1948 October 10) is a Malayalam language poet from Kerala, India. He is the founder and editor of '' Innu'' the oldest inland-letter literary magazine publishing from Kerala state. He is the author of fourteen books, including eleven poetry collections. His poems have been translated into English, Hindi, Tamil and other languages.
