Cherubim
A cherub (; : cherubim; ''kərūḇ'', pl. ''kərūḇīm'') is one type of supernatural being in the Abrahamic religions. The numerous depictions of cherubim assign to them many different roles, such as protecting the entrance of the Garden of Eden. Etymology Delitzch's ''Assyrisches Handwörterbuch'' (1896) connected the name ''keruv'' with Assyrian ''kirubu'' (a name of the ''shedu'' or ''lamassu'') and ''karabu'' ("great, mighty"). The living creatures, living beings, or ''chayyoth'' () are a class of heavenly beings in Judaism. Ezekiel 1
Ezekiel 1 is the first chapter of the Book of Ezekiel in the Hebrew Bible or the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. This book contains prophecies attributed to the prophet/priest Ezekiel, and is one of the Books of the Prophets. Seven Archangels
The concept of Seven Archangels is found in some works of early Jewish literature and in Christianity. In those texts, they are referenced as the angels who serve God directly. The Catholic Church venerates seven archangels: in Latin Christianity, three are invoked by name (Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael) while the Eastern Catholic Churches name seven. Archangels () are the second lowest rank of angel in the Catholic hierarchy of angels, based on and put forward by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite in the 5th or 6th century in his book ''De Coelesti Hierarchia'' (''On the Celestial Hierarchy''). A seraph ( ; pl.: ) is a Angelic being, celestial or heavenly being originating in Ancient Judaism. The term plays a role in subsequent Judaism, Islam and Christianity. Édouard Paul Dhorme (15 January 1881 in Armentières, Nord – 19 January 1966 in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (Alpes-Maritimes)) was a French Assyriologist, Semitologist and translator of the Bible. Career He was director of the French School of Biblical Archeology in Jerusalem from 1927 to 1930, and director of studies at École pratique des hautes études from 1933 to 1951, and a professor at Collège de France from 1945 to 1951. He was elected a member of the Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres in 1948. One of his greatest works treated of the religions of Babylon and Assyria. His French translation of the Old Testament was prepared under the direction of Gallimard at the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade.
