Cherryvale is an unincorporated community in Vigo and Clay counties, in the U.S. state of Indiana. It is part of the Terre Haute metropolitan area. History Cherryvale was not formally laid out or platted. A post office was established at Cherryvale in 1899, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1904. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. Vigo County ( ) is a county on the western border of the U.S. state of Indiana. According to the 2020 United States Census, it had a population of 105,994 . Its county seat is Terre Haute. Vigo County is included in the Terre Haute metropolitan area.
