Cherry Tree (EP)
''Cherry Tree'' is an EP by the American indie rock band The National, released in July 2004. It was reissued on June 28, 2011, by Brassland Records, the same label on which it was originally published. Songs "Murder Me Rachael" is a live version taken from a Black Sessions recording, while "Reasonable Man (I Don't Mind)" is a song featuring Padma Newsome. In addition to the CD, ''Cherry Tree'' was originally released on limited-edition red-colored 10" vinyl by Shake It!, a record shop in the band's hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. It has since had numerous repressings by Brassland Records. An alternative version of the song "About Today" was featured in the 2011 movie ''Warrior'', directed by Gavin O'Connor, and played in the 2013 film '' The East'' and the television show '' The Path''. The National (band)
The National is an American rock band of Cincinnati, Ohio natives, formed in Brooklyn, New York City in 1999. The band consists of Matt Berninger (vocals), twin brothers Aaron Dessner (guitar, piano, keyboards) and Bryce Dessner (guitar, piano, keyboards), as well as brothers Scott Devendorf (bass) and Bryan Devendorf (drums). Carin Besser is not a band member, but has written lyrics for the band alongside her husband, Berninger, since its 2007 album ''Boxer''. Gavin O'Connor (born December 24, 1963) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, playwright, and actor. He is best known for directing the films ''Miracle'', ''Warrior'', '' The Accountant'', and '' The Way Back''. Life and career Gavin O'Connor was raised in Huntington, New York, on Long Island. He wrote and produced Ted Demme's directorial debut, the short film '' The Bet''. Three years later, he made his own feature film co–writing and directing debut with ''Comfortably Numb'', about the moral dilemmas facing a Connecticut preppie-turned-New York City prosecutor; the film was screened at both the Cannes Film Festival and the Boston Film Festival. Robert Thomas Christgau ( ; born April 18, 1942) is an American music journalist and essayist. Among the most well-known and influential music critics, he began his career in the late 1960s as one of the earliest professional rock critics and later became an early proponent of musical movements such as hip hop, riot grrrl, and the import of African popular music in the West. ''The East'' is a 2013 thriller film directed by Zal Batmanglij and starring Brit Marling, Alexander Skarsgård, and Elliot Page.
