Cherry Blossom Sharjah Cup 2003
The Cherry Blossom Sharjah Cup was a One Day International cricket tournament held in Sharjah during April 2003. The games took place at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium. Seven matches were played during the tournament, including the final. Final of the tournament was played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe which Pakistan won by eight wickets. After scoring two centuries, Kumar Sangakkara was named the man of the series. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one day game is a late-twentieth-century development. Heath Hilton Streak (born 16 March 1974) is a former Zimbabwean cricketer and cricket coach who played for and captained the Zimbabwe national cricket team. By his statistical record, he is the best bowler to have played for Zimbabwe. He is the all time leading wicket taker for Zimbabwe in Test cricket with 216 wickets and in ODI cricket with 239 wickets. Sean Michael Ervine (born 6 December 1982) is a Zimbabwean former cricketer. Ervine played as an all-rounder who batted left-handed and bowled right-arm medium pace. Ervine was born at Harare in Zimbabwe and played for his country in the 2003 Cricket World Cup but became one of the cricketers who rebelled against the Zimbabwe Cricket Union, and left the country in May 2004 for a new life in Australia. Deshabandu Handunnettige Deepthi Priyantha Kumar Dharmasena (born 24 April 1971), popularly as Kumar Dharmasena, is a Sri Lankan cricket umpire and former international cricketer. Danish Parabha Shankar Kaneria ( ur, ; ), (born 16 December 1980) is a Pakistani former cricketer who played for the Pakistan national cricket team between 2000 and 2010. James Kabatha Kamande (born 12 December 1978) is a former Kenyan cricketer and former limited over captain. He is a right-handed batsman and an off break bowler. Abdul Razzaq (Punjabi, ur, ; born 2 December 1979) is a Pakistani former cricketer, who played all formats of the game. He is a right arm fast-medium bowler and a right-handed batsman, who emerged in international cricket in 1996 with his One Day International debut against Zimbabwe at his home ground in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore; just one month before his seventeenth birthday. Arnoldus Mauritius Blignaut (born 1 August 1978) is a former Zimbabwean cricketer, who played all formats of the game. He was a right-arm fast-medium bowler, also known as a hard-hitting batsman in ODIs, where he frequently scored a fast rate; though he was seldom able to sustain this form and keeping his wicket intact through many overs.
