Chermside West is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Chermside West had a population of 6,458 people. Parts of Chermside West were formerly known as Craigslea. Geography Chermside West is located by road north of the Brisbane GPO. History The name Chermside honours Queensland Governor, Sir Herbert Chermside. St Gerard Majella's Catholic Church opened in 1962 in Pullford Road. In 1977 the congregation opened the current church in Maundrell Terrace, and the Pullford Road church was later acquired by the Kedron Brook Christadelphians. The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church opened a church in Maundrell Terrace about 1965. In 1984 the church established the Prince of Peace Lutheran Primary School in Everton Hills. In 1986, the congregation moved to its present location at Everton Hills when a new church was built on the top of the hill adjacent to the college site. Queensland Governor
The governor of Queensland is the representative in the state of Queensland of the monarch of Australia. Ben Tune
Ben Tune (born 28 December 1976) is a former Australian rugby union player. He played most of his rugby career on the wing but later switched to outside centre. Early career Tune was born in Brisbane and educated at St Paul's School, Bald Hills and played his junior rugby for Brothers/Teachers North. He went on to play for GPS Rugby. He played for the Queensland Reds in their inaugural Super 12 season in 1996, making his debut against the Highlanders. Wallabies Tune made his test debut in 1996, playing Wales. Tune was an important member of the national side that claimed the 1999 Rugby World Cup in Wales, even scoring a try in the final against France. He returned to the Reds' lineup and retired after the 2007 season. He was named on the right wing in the Wallaby Team of the Decade. Michael Sydney Doohan (born 4 June 1965) is an Australian former Grand Prix motorcycle road racing World Champion, who won five consecutive 500 cc World Championships. Biography Originally from the Gold Coast, Queensland, Doohan attended St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace and Aspley State High School, Brisbane. He raced in Australian Superbikes in the late 1980s, and also won both races as Superbike World Championship visited Oran Park in as well as the second leg of the Japanese round held earlier in the year. In a break-out season he also won the final Australian motorcycle Grand Prix to be held in the TT format at Mount Panorama before the race became a round of the World Championship the following year and moved to Phillip Island. Frederick Annand
Colonel Frederick William Gadsby Annand (7 May 1872 – 22 June 1958) was an Australian businessman and soldier. Early life Annand was born at Toowoomba on 7 May 1872 to rural worker James Annand and Harriet, ''née'' Gadsby. He attended local state schools. Business career Annand worked for the Australian Mutual Provident Society and on stations in the Warrego region. In 1895 he formed an agency in Toowoomba and in 1899 established an accounting form, gaining a licence as an auditor. On 1 June 1898 he married Helen Alice Robinson. In 1905 he was appointed to manage the Brisbane Permanent Building and Banking Company (which would become the Bank of Queensland), which he restored to profit.
