Cherish (group)
Cherish is an American R&B music group consisting of sisters Fallon, Felisha, Farrah, and Neosha King. Originating from Atlanta, Georgia, both their parents are musicians, their father having been in the band Professions of Sounds, who frequently toured with acts such as the Emotions and Earth, Wind & Fire. The group was signed to Capitol Records and Sho'nuff Records. They experienced chart success with the hit song "Do It to It". The group first rose to fame in 2003, when they were featured on the single " In Love wit Chu", by Da Brat. They quickly followed up with their official debut single, " Miss P.", which had minor success on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in the US. The Rhythmic chart (also called Rhythmic Airplay, and previously named Rhythmic Songs, Rhythmic Top 40 and CHR/Rhythmic) is an airplay chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The chart tracks and measures the airplay of songs played on rhythmic radio stations, whose playlist includes mostly hit-driven R&B/hip-hop, rhythmic pop, and some dance tracks. Nielsen Audio sometimes refers to the format as rhythmic contemporary hit radio. Maywood, Illinois
Maywood is a village in Proviso Township, Cook County, Illinois, United States in the Chicago metropolitan area. It was founded on April 6, 1869, and organized October 22, 1881. The population was 23,512 at the 2020 United States Census. History There was limited European-American settlement in the Maywood area before a railroad was built after the American Civil War, which stimulated the rise of Chicago. At least one house in what became Maywood is known to have been used as a station on the Underground Railroad, to aid refugee African-American slaves in escaping to freedom in the North. Tamar Estine Braxton (born March 17, 1977) is an American singer and television personality. Braxton began her career in 1990 as a founding member of The Braxtons, an R&B singing group formed with her sisters. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. "Killa" is the first single by R&B American group Cherish from their second album, ''The Truth'' (2008). "Killa" features rapper Yung Joc. The song is about "not being able to resist the man you know is no good." It is their third single and was described by UK R&B writer Pete Lewis of the award-winning Blues & Soul as "a robustly funky single which finds the girls teaming up with chart-topping rugged male Southern rapper Yung Joc". ''The Truth'' is the second studio album by American girl group Cherish. It was released on May 13, 2008, and was met with mixed to positive reviews from critics. The album spawned two singles, " Killa" and "Amnesia," and reached number 40 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Writing and recording The group began writing and recording the album about eighteen months after their debut; they wrote (or co-wrote) all but one song on the album by themselves. In an interview with ''Blues & Soul'' magazine, group member Fallon King commented that the group had matured since the recording of their debut, and that the recording process was much easier for the follow-up record because the producers were already familiar with the group's style. She added that "with this new album, we definitely wanted everyone to know we are songwriters and our music does reflect our own personal lives."
