''Chennai Kadhal'' ( ''Chennai Love'') is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Vikraman. The film stars Bharath and Genelia. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Joshua Sridhar. The film was released on 8 December 2006. It received negative reviews and became a flop. Plot Gautham, a college dropout and good-for-nothing guy, falls in love with Narmada, the daughter of a local don Sakthivel. She lives in a hostel after learning that her father is a criminal who now wants her to marry his partner Sardar's brother. So the two lovers elope to Mumbai, and they are soon tracked and separated. Vikraman
Vikraman is an Indian film director primarily working in Tamil cinema. Career 1990–1994 He worked as an assistant to actor and director R. Parthiban in ''Puthiya Pathai'' (1989), which was the latter's debut film as a director and an actor. Vikraman made his directorial debut with the film ''Pudhu Vasantham'' (1990) produced by R. B. Choudary, for which director K. S. Ravikumar apprenticed under him as an assistant director. The film was about four unemployed friends and musical experts who find themselves unexpectedly saddled with a young woman. Upon release, the film received critical acclaim and it re-wrote Tamil cinema history, sparking a whole range of "friendship" films. Aravind Parameswaran popularly known by his stage name, Chutti Aravind is an Indian actor, mimicry artist and comedian who is currently working in the Tamil film industry, he debuted in the Tamil film ''Chennai Kadhal'' in 2006.
