Cheng Wen-tang
Cheng Wen-tang (; born 1958) is a Taiwanese director and producer. He got his start creating documentaries on social movements in 1980s Taiwan. He began creating narrative films in the 1990s and has gone on to collaborate with his daughter, singer Enno Cheng, on several projects. He has served president of the Kaohsiung Film Festival and is a part-time assistant-professor level teacher at National Chengchi University. Early life Cheng was born in Yilan County, Taiwan in 1958 and grew up in Luodong. He graduated from Chinese drama school of the Chinese Culture University. Career Cheng got his start in filmmaking making documentaries, with a focus on social movements in 1980s Taiwan. He made his first television film debut with ''Lanyang River Youth'' (1998). The Chinese Culture University (CCU; ) is a private Taiwanese university located in Yangmingshan in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan. CCU was established in 1962 and is one of the largest universities in Taiwan with an enrollment of about 32,000 students. Satellite campuses are located in the Jianguo, Ximending, and Zhongxiao East Road areas of Taipei City. CCU has a vast collaboration and network with top universities around the world. ''Blue Cha Cha'' (Chinese: ''Shēn hǎi'', 深海) is a 2005 Taiwanese film directed by Chen Wen-Tang. It was Taiwan's submission to the 79th Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted as a nominee. ''Blue Cha Cha'' depicts Ah Yu ( Tarcy Su), a woman in her thirties who has just been released from prison. She stays with an older women, An An ( Lu Yi-ching), the proprietor of a girlie bar in the port town of Kaohsiung, and attempts to form relationships with two men: businessman Chen Sang (Leon Dai) and factory worker Hao (Wei Lee). Ken Loach
Kenneth Charles Loach (born 17 June 1936) is a British film director and screenwriter. His socially critical directing style and socialist ideals are evident in his film treatment of social issues such as poverty (''Poor Cow'', 1967), homelessness ('' Cathy Come Home'', 1966), and labour rights ('' Riff-Raff'', 1991, and '' The Navigators'', 2001). Chen Yingzhen
Chen Yingzhen (; 8 November 1937 – 22 November 2016) was a Taiwanese author. Chen is also notable for having served a prison sentence for "subversive activity" between 1968 and 1973. He was active as writer from the late 1950s until his death in 2016. The ''Collected Works of Chen Yingzhen'' is 15 volumes long, and was published in 1988. Some of his stories were also included in Lucien Miller's ''Exiles at Home''. Biography Chen Yingzhen was born Chen Yongshan in northern Taiwan, the son of a devout Christian minister. Despite this, he never was a Christian himself while growing up. He was raised in what became Zhunan, Miaoli, with a twin brother, who died in 1946. Chen was arrested in 1968 by the Kuomintang for "leading procommunist activities", and was imprisoned until 1973. Chen was again imprisoned in 1979, shortly before the Kaohsiung Incident. Huang Chun-ming (; born 13 February 1935) is a Taiwanese literary figure and teacher. Huang writes mainly about the tragic and sometimes humorous lives of ordinary Taiwanese people, and many of his short stories have been turned into films, including ''The Sandwich Man'' (1983).
