Chen Lei (; born June 1954) is a Chinese politician who has served as Minister of Water Resources since 2007. Biography A native of Beijing, Chen became a worker at Ningxia 905 factory in September 1971. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in May, 1980. From December 1976 to July 1980, Chen studied at department of metal materials of Northeast Institute of Technology, majoring in powder metallurgy. After graduation, he became a teacher in the department of hydraulic engineering mechanics of North China University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power. From September 1982 to May 1985, Chen studied in the graduate school of the University in Beijing, majoring in agricultural hydraulic engineering, and obtained a master's degree. He then served in China Irrigation and Drainage Company and eventually became the general manager. In May 1995, he started serving in Ministry of Water Resources. Chen Lei (footballer)
Chen Lei (; born October 16, 1985, in Shanghai) is a former professional Chinese football player. Club career Chen Lei made first competitive debut for Shanghai Shenhua in April 2006, aged 20 in a 1–0 defeat against Shenzhen Kingway. By the end of the season he was able to make four appearances for Shanghai, however at the beginning of the 2007 league there was an influx of players with the merger Shanghai United F.C. and Chen Lei went out on loan to Changchun Yatai for two seasons. At Changchun Yatai he gained considerably more playing time and helped the team to claim their first league title in his first season with them. He would return to Shanghai Shenhua at the beginning of the 2009 Chinese Super League season where he would gradually push for a place within the first team playing as a full back until Sun Xiang returned to the team after his loan move in Europe ended. Tang Dynasty () is a Chinese rock band formed in 1989. They are often credited as being the first Chinese heavy metal band. Biography Singer and rhythm guitarist Ding Wu, bassist Zhang Ju, and Chinese-American guitarist Kaiser Kuo co-founded Tang Dynasty in early 1989. Kaiser left shortly after to return to the United States. Liu "Lao Wu" Yijun took his place and, according to Kaiser, went on to become China's first "guitar hero." In 1991, the band released its metal/rock version of "The Internationale" in Chinese. Tang Dynasty rose to fame with their eponymous debut album, released in December 1992. The album officially sold about 2,000,000 authentic copies throughout Asia and abroad, not counting the multitudes more of infringing copies. Lei Chen (; 8 July 1897 – 7 March 1979) was a Chinese politician and dissident who was the early leading figure in the movement to bring fuller democracy to the government of the Republic of China. Born in Zhejiang in 1897, Lei was educated at Kyoto Imperial University in Japan. His early political career included posts as the secretary-general of the and . He also served on the Control Yuan, as minister without portfolio, and presidential adviser. Lei Chen helped found and produce the periodical '' Free China'', published beginning in 1950. Lei was expelled from the Kuomintang in 1954. Six years later, he founded the China Democratic Party with Hsu Shih-hsien and Huang Hua, among others. Shortly thereafter, Lei was charged with sedition and jailed. The charges are widely regarded as having been falsified by the Taiwan government and its then-ruling party the Kuomintang in response to Lei Chen's criticisms.
